The Book of Assistance is a beautiful book, and is one of the best books on Islamic spirituality that is available in the English language.

The author Imam Abdallah Ibn-Alawi Al-Haddad (d. 1720), lived at Tarim in the Hadramaut valley between Yemen and Oman, and is widely held to have been the Mujaddid of the twelfth Islamic century.

This book is written in the format of a loving and concerned teacher giving concise advices to a student...In how to connect with ALLAH سبحانه وتعالى and to remain steadfast upon the path through all of lifes challenges.

It is essential reading and should be part of every Muslims library a book the kind of book you read over and over again.

The following comments by a sister on a book review site sums up the book of Assistance perfectly.

"The moment I finished reading this book was the moment I planned to reread this book not only for one more time but more. Though this book is not that thick but it is so packed with reminders and with its merciful yet firm teaching on how to conduct one's Akhlak while trying to become a better Muslim. This is one book that contains countless beautiful gems that one can take so many at a time - it never runs out as it is being filled by The Most Generous every time you read it. Subhan'Allah. Definitely, this has become my top favourite book!" by Hasanah.
