ha this was funny, I also struggle in knowing why people call it double roti. But I do know what are 'Papay' - circular chai rusks.
There is another current struggle which I am going through when I visit Pakistan. In the Punjab region, if you take a sudden and short visit to someone's house - they will ask if you would like to have anything to eat or drink?
The natural thing that would come in mind (be it that if one is thirsty or not) would be 'Pani' (water), since it is inexpensive. Even if you decline everything, the host would still encourage to at-least have some 'Pani.'
What really gets presented is a soft drink (7up, Pepsi, Sprite, surprisingly now they also have 'sufi cola'). The funny thing is, at one side one was expecting water to be presented, and on the other hand one feels bad to decline the soft drink, as the host invested money to buy this bottle for the person.
So I was wondering maybe the usage of soft drinks is so common nowadays that they term it as Pani (water)?
This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
