Please... whatever 'pet' or 'animal' we get... lets be careful to think the decision through thoroughly so that the poor animals don't suffer - not just in terms of care but in terms of getting bored or not wanting the hassle of cleaning up after them.
One reason our city hasn't allowed backyard chickens yet is because our animal shelters are FULL of unwanted 'pets' of all kinds but particularly cats. Unfortunately, where space is limited those that are older get destroyed.
Think it through first insha'Allah. We're working on an article on cats at IslamicTeachings but I think the same considerations apply for all animals in urban settings, particularly in the west where feral colonies are kept in check.
I have no experience with pets. Someone at work told me to just buy a coop, throw chicken in it and feed them and let them in the Backyard and that's it.
You will be responsible for their lives, even if you plan on eating them later. So... try not to make a hasty decision. Even if the coop flies, there'll be others... otherwise, you might be listing the coop in a matter of months!
The one in the picture is 129 (new) + Free Shipping
The one by the brother is around 70 (+ Fuel) to go pick it up...He is also giving me feeders and drinkers
Money is about the same so I am not sure what to do...The one from the brother is little smaller. If I buy the new one I can extend the run myself (if need be)
This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
