If random thread was still open, MuftiSays could've easily become a Shisha lounge. Maulana Yasin made the correct choice. Better late than never.

There was plenty of beneficial stuff there, yet loads of silly stuff too. Topics could've been opened and discussed, but they just got lost and it became difficult to find.

For authorizers to split the topics out, it became like looking for a needle in a haystack.

When we split a thread, we see every single post on one page, then we have to select each post we want to split out and move, can you imagine doing that for thousands of posts?

Glad it got locked, and hope it doesn't continue here

If the random thread is locked, start new threads dedicated to the topic, that would be better. InshaAllah

The random thread was locked for a valid reason, as well as beneficial posts that could've been posted as new threads became lost within the thread.

The closure was mainly due to avoiding the thread from turning into facebook with status updates. So their was much hikmah in the decision, Alhumdulillah.

Last thought on the mater,

There is a sisters section where the sisters can be themselves, I mean as kids :) (Just remember that brother Admins [admins aren't the same as authorizers] have access to the whole site)

For us brothers, well few of our posts have already started becoming childish, so I guess we really need to grow up :)

Answer to your first question, kind of...

Aapa means sister in most Asian languages but Baaji means sister as well as father in other languages. I've heard Gujarati people referring to their dads as Baaji.

Then we have Bhaaji, now that is also know as Palak. i.e. Spinach :)

I'm sure there's other differences, but since I'm not pure Desi, in other words, born and bred in an Asian country or not brought up as a pure Desi, I really don't know.
