Revert2001 was a very nice senior new Muslim from US. After his conversion to Islam he faced serious problems from his family. For example one of the things his wife blurted out was,"I suppose now you'd like to kill all of us?"
I do not know where this brother is now.
But I do have a complain too with him. He once said that it was pointless to recount our past scientific achievements. My disagreement is that our past achievements boost our morale to move forward in a world where the west not only has the advantage but uses it their full advantage.
This thread has been my struggle to find a purpose.
Naturally now the question is what have I found?
Ans: I suppose the purpose now is to say such things that will provide consolation to desolate, harassed, exasperated, desperate, heart broken and otherwise beleaguered Muslims the world over.
This asks for a further clarification. How can I claim any contribution towards this end by merely typing some bytes on a forum that has very limited reach?
Here are my clarifications.
(1) Solace comes from remembrance of Allah SWT. It is there in the Noble Qur'an.
(2) Solace comes from family.
(3) Solace comes from friends, society, Ummah.
(4) I am part of that.
(5) I have been constantly striving to reach the light at the end of the tunnel.
(6) By the Grace of Allah SWT we already have several signs of that around us.
(7) The upcoming Taliban stint in Afghanistan is one such sign.
(8) In India the boy Sharjeel Imam should be taken as a sign of such light at the end of the tunnel.
(9) My brothers and sisters should try to take utmost advantage of the investigations that i have been doing all these years.
(10) I, for one, intend to demonstrate this by deconstructing a big time Saffron bigot.
(11) Please understand that this world is a test for us. (And it is not a test for Allah SWT - may Allah SWT forgive me for uttering such nonsense.) Remember how Allah SWT punished the Arab for ignoring Allah SWT's work for so long? He, SWT, raised the Turks in place of the Arabs. Ottoman's in Turkey, Saljukes in Middle East, Safavids in Iran and Timurids in India. And then we were turned out of Spain and some time ago from India and colonization followed. We must be warned and take up Allah SWT's work in a big way. Start looking for solace in Allah SWT's work. Remembrance of Allah SWT in today's time is the field work that is different from Sufi Dhikr, Tablighi Outings. Do not forget that our biggest solace today in the form of Taliban came via those means that that are different from above mentioned activities.
The problem is not how to influence people and win friends.
No not at all.
Problem, firstly, is how to get your work done by people.
Now the simple answer to this problem is - bribe. Take this high way to get your work done. And move on.
It is vastly simpler and a short cut as compared to what nervous-breakdown-giving algorithms Dale Carnegie fed us.
And then let us take the problem of winning friends. I am sorry that is not a problem. The real problem in case of friends is how to lose them.
Let us suppose there is a task that a friend can help and that can be done using bribe. Which one you'll use? Friend's help? No, silly. Use bribe any time.
Then there is this issue of a friend becoming a hindrance. Boy you have a mighty problem at your hands - to lose him.
And Dale Carnegie, a nice man, a great man, did not tell us about the art of easing such people from our life.
This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
