السلام عليكم

Aim of this thread is pretty self explanatory

Post any nutty/weird/absurd beliefs you may have come across.

I'll go first, recently a mate of mine contacted me asking whether there is any authenticity in this ' when a person dies' if you write something on a piece of paper ( he referred it to as an 'ahadnama whatever exactly that may mean ) some ayats etc then even Munkar Nakeer won't come to the grave to ask questions to that deceased person, then he goes you put the Shajrah Nasab ( lienage )of your peers in the grave and that will also protect you.

I laughed and told my mate what I thought, as if this was proven then the Sahaba would have done it etc, he said the guy said its in ahadith and can provide a reference for it as well, so at the moment I'm waiting for a reference. The guy who mentioned this to him is a brelvi.

Looks like this will be a great thread and a wake up call for many.

However, I'd just like to mention that we do not mock other religions, no matter how absurd. Its not like we Muslims haven't adopted them into our lives one way or the other. So those things that we have adopted out of error can and should be exposed!

Shaykh (Maulana) Ahmed Raza Khan Barelwee (RA) wrote in his will prepared 2 hours and 17 minutes before his passing away.

…Relatives are requested (if easily done) to provide the following two or three times weekly in Fatiha:

  1. Milk Ice and buffalo milk (if possible)
  2. Chicken Biryani
  3. Chicken Pilau
  4. Shami Kebab (even if its goat meat)
  5. Parathay and Balai (Malai)
  6. Urd Daal (dry and separated) with ginger and other condiments
  7. Meat filled Kachorian
  8. Apple water
  9. Pomegranate Water
  10. Soda water
  11. Milk Ice

Note: Since it was mentioned twice Maulana was informed that he had already asked for it so he replied, “Write it again as Insha’Allah my Lord will first give me ice” and this is what happened i.e. a man during the burial brought Milk Ice without notice!

If one of these items can be done daily it would be OK, otherwise do what is suitable and it shouldn’t be done simply because I am saying it!…

BIG Ikhtelaf on this akhi however I wouldn't personally deem it as nutty but maybe I would to Tahirul Qadris dreams in which he claims that the Prophet (saw) told him to buy a seat for him as well on the plane next to him etc

May Allah protect us from the people who betray us in the name of our Deen

Around a decade ago, some of you might even remember this, empty graves were sold from 10-90k, the reasons for the astronomical prices were it was claimed that these graves are graves of Jannah. Many mosques at the time even distributed their leaflets and many people fell for it sadly.

I wonder what happened to them afterwards ?

Recently I was discussing with a friend, the topic of Tasawwuf came up, anyway he claimed that there are instances where even Sajdah is ja'iz/permissible, listen on, he goes in Pakistan there is some big mazar and the Saint buried there is really famous, I forgot his name but do remember the locations name, he said once you enter the mazar it's written in Urdu : In Shariat Sajdah is forbidden to anyone other than Allah, but in Tariqat that's allowed.

So I said to him la hawla wa la quwwata, that's you daleel ? How can that be, because if that's the case then the Sahaba would have been the first to do Sajdah to the Prophet (saw) and when he passed away Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه wouldn't have said, whoever worshipped Muhhammad then know he has passed on and whoever worshipped his Lord, then he lives forever ( to the nearest meaning ) I told my mate akhii this isn't Tariqat but Shaitaniyat, alhumdulilah he agreed and has never made that claim again.

A few years ago when Islamic channels started to become the norm and you could watch live salah of the two Haramains, what a lot of people started doing was praying Salah by following the recitation on tv, then later claiming oh I prayed Salah behind Imam-e-Ka'abah

Lol

During the Jumu'ah lecture the imam mentioned that there are some people who read a special sort of Eid salah on the day of milaad as it is an eid day. The imam further stated that some will also sacrifice an animal as it is done on eid ul adha and think that they will get rewarded for all this.

A brother once told me about his silly experience in a Ahle Hadith Masjid. Upon entering there, he felt something abnormal. He observed the Masjid closely and found the pulpit located at left side from the middle. These nutcases did that to elongate Jamaah at the right side because Hadith says there is more reward in Salaah at the right side of Jamaah.

Salafis/Ahle Hadith consider Ahle-Sunnah(WE) as Barelvis.
Barelvies consider Ahle-Sunnah(WE) as wahhabi.

Some Salafis told me that Tasawwuf / Sufism came from teaching of Buddha. Then one other told me Sufism is a copycat from Kabbalah and bringing a mission of Illuminati

I used to believe that -____-

1. If you have clothes hanging on the washing line at 12'o clock at night, the jinns will wear it.
2. If the musalla is left open after you complete you salaah, the shaytaan will read salaah on your musalla.
3. If you smell comphor it means someone in the house is gonna die, most probably Dadi (not forgetting dada just rubbed his legs with a comphorated ointment.)
