When Allah Ta'aala inspires the heart of someone to do something difficult - to give up something dear to them - Allah Ta'aala adds strength to keep them firm in their belief.

Reassurance...and strengthened the hearts of the individuals when they cried to Allah when their kith and kin continued to worship idols...right?

Al-Kahf Verse No:14

And We made their hearts firm and strong (with the light of Faith in Allah and bestowed upon them patience to bear the separation of their kith and kin and dwellings, etc.) when they stood up and said: "Our Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, never shall we call upon any ilah (god) other than Him; if we did, we should indeed have uttered an enormity in disbelief.

I was thinking of the story of Musa's عليه السلام mother and how Allah Ta'aala strengthened her heart when she had to put him in the river.

I didn't use google search. It is the first thing that came to my mind and then I looked it up in the Qur'an but the tafseer I have doesn't comment on this so... waiting for brother Arslan. to answer brother Sulaiman84's question insha'Allah.

Here is the English translation of Surah Al-Qasas, verse 10:

Quote:
And the heart of the mother of Musa became restless; indeed she was about to disclose this (the real facts about Musa), had We not strengthened her heart to remain among those who have firm belief (in Allah's promise).

Khalah Acacia got one of the reasons correct: Allah Ta'ala strengthens the heart when one sacrifices the most beloved thing in the obedience of Allah.

But what's the second reason?

Allah's promise precedes all this: "Surely We are going to bring him back to you and appoint him one of (Our) messengers." (Surah Al-Qasas, verse 10).

It's in brother jinn's opening rules post....it's allowed.

Ok I know what your saying should we even be resorting to such methods? Definitely not, especially not on basic stuff, but even the basic stuff seems so difficult when it's in the form of a question, the Qur'an and knowledge is so vast, it could be anything.

Yes, but that's not it. You were close with one of your previous answers, though.

If no one gets it right by tomorrow, I'll give the answer إن شاء الله.

Those who stand firm on the path of Allah Ta'aala despite difficulties and submit to Him - giving up those things that are dear to them - and they do so with pure or purified heart (qalbun saleem).
