The question was: Why does Allah use two different phrases. In other words, what is the benefit in using one phrase for positive things, and the other phrase for negative things?
We've already learned that Allah uses a particular wording for mentioning positive things people have done with His Book, and He uses a particular wording for mentioning negative things done with His Book. We've also learned that this is consistent throughout the Qur'an (I only posted 4 ayaat, but there are actually dozens of ayaat like this in the Qur'an, and they all seem to follow this 'rule').
Now what I want to know is, why does Allah use two different wordings for mentioning positive and negative things. Why not just use one phrase for both situations? Think about whats different about the two phrases. They may sound similar upon quick reading, but there is a big difference between them.
Here are the two phrases again:
(1) Those to whom We gave the Book (used for mentioning positive things)
(2) Those who were given the Book (used for mentioning negative things)
Those whom Allah Ta'aala gave guidance through His Book and submitted to it, He draws near in the phrase by mentioning Himself directly; and, those who were given guidance but rejected it, He doesn't associate in the same sentence.
One can tell who listens to Noman Ali Khan and who hasn't.
Wether brother Arsalan has his question from there or not may be a different matter, but these jewels are very often found in the Quran proving that the Quran is the word of the Creator and has no space for even the slightest error or can ever be questioned or doubted.
Alhumdulillah.
Similarly the verses about the nation of Israel and the people of Israel. (Yaa Qaumi - Yaa Bani Israel) Superior language usage and no space for anyone to question the authenticity.
Ok that's quite interesting, I was thinking prior to your post, as to the hypocrite (munafiqs) when they were with the believers they would say we are with you, and when they were with the disbelievers they use to mock the believers, but Allah knew what they did not, but they were still known as Muslims...they fooled no one but themselves, so the negative verses, even after they accepted the truth and declared themselves as Muslims they were not true believers???
This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
