Prophet sallallaahu 'alayhi wasallam said, "Tomorrow I will give the banner to a man who loves Allah and His messenger and Allah and His messenger love him"

People gathered around him in the morning hoping they were the one...and he called for Ali radhiyallaahu 'anhu who had a problem with his eyes, so he supplicated for him and the problem left. He then handed the banner to him!
