I thought whats in a user name.. invalid as it is .. since there was a brother User Invalid on sf.. so latinised it to invalidum..

A lot is in a username or else we'd just be assigned random numbers and be done with it.

Why I chose Acacia (not my real name):
  • It may be one of the trees referred to in the Qur'an (Allahu Alam);
  • I love trees - something about them calls out to me (though I don't know much about them). There was a tree I used to give salaams to, I felt moved in my heart to give salaam to it and I actually miss its company now that I've moved;
  • Acacia represents a fantastic sign from nature, subhanAllah;
  • It is a beautiful, resilient, functional tree with many uses and benefits - including medicinal ingredients and honey;
  • The tree and ants have a beautiful, symbiotic relationship; and
  • Trees have come to represent knowledge as well as lineage.

Though not an important connection, still, the history of one particular Acacia coincides with an important year for me.

Incidentally, does anyone know what type of tree the tree that Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wa sallem) is believed to have taken shade under? I understand it is believed to still be standing and I wonder what type of tree it is.

My username is from Naqshbandi tariqa, as I am fascinated by my grand shaykh (shaykh zulfiqar Naqshbandi) so i selected Naqshband. Not only in MS, even on other sites my username is Naqshband.
