In order to understand this issue you need to understand the entire Ethos of Ulamah of Deoband.
The Islam of Ulamah of Deoband has a strong emphasis on Adab. Nabi (Sallaho Alaihe Wassallam) was of Arab lineage and ethnicity and Ulamah and Mashaykh have gone out of their way to love everything associated with Arabs and this has permeated deeply into our culture and psyche.
Nevertheless if you deal with the issue with pure facts then if we see anything wrong amongst the Arabs we can criticise them. The Ulamah and Mashaykh say that if we start criticising we may CROSS the limits and inadvertently take stabs on the lineage of Nabi (Sallaho Alaihe Wassallam) and many have (in the history).
We have major issues with Saudi Bandit-Kings and everybody knows that but there is also a real possibility that limits can be crosssed in criticising them etc.
