I believe step-brother is non-Mahram and we(i.e sisters) should do Hijab Niqab in front of them. But in prof. khalil Ahmed's book it's written that step brother is a mahram - I hope it might be just a mistake by him?

khair, I wanna ask, according to all Madhahib step-brother is non-Mahram, right? - Could anyone please confirm?

Step brother is only non mehram, if you don't share the same mother or father.

Or

He has not been fed milk from the same mother.

Allah knows best.

when my father married to my step-mum she already had three children (one son, two daughters) , so that step-brother is ghair-mahram right?

If by step-brother you mean half brother through mother or father, then he will be a mahram. If you mean step-brother through radha'a (suckling), then he will still be a mahram.

If you just mean your step-fathers/step-mothers child from a previous marriage, then he is a ghair-mahram.

I think when prof. khalil Ahmed said step brother is a mahram, he might be referring to this one. I'll ask him what he actually meant.

I always believed that.

Yes that's right, because their is no connection through blood, or milk. So he would be ghair mehram.

The heat is on and the lights are out.

No electricity from 11am - 1.30pm, 3pm - 6.30pm and 8pm - 10.30pm. (I know it's a repeat post, but it really gets on my nerves)

I seriously can't wait to get back to the 21st century.

Oh dear....makes us grateful for what we have,Alhumdulillah. We've only had electricity cut twice over the year, one for 4hrs the other for nine, found it really really difficult especially with cold water and no heating. My brother in another part of UK had electricity cut for 2hrs, but were told it's quite common and something that were going to have to get use to.

Abu Mohammed stop complaining :D

Make the most of your holiday before you come back, don't worry you haven't missed much. Should have gone somewhere better though I would say.
