This is what I've found but the writing style has put severe doubts in my mind, it's like they wrote whatever they felt like/or heard and put one of the books from Sahih Sitta at the end of it. Allah forgive me if I'm wrong but I'm sure having doubts here is good.

Sister take these narrations and also what you've heard and email Mufti Desai or Mufti Ebrahim Saljee to see if such narrations exist and the information you have heard is true or not, at the end of the day they are the experts so I'm sure they'll be able to verify/confirm. They are pretty good at replying to emails as well, Mufti Saljee usually gives an answer in 1-3 days, also as a side note he interprets dreams as well so if anyone wants a dream interpreted he is usually recommended.

Also I read in Scattered Pearls by Maulana Palanpuri that if you see a snake then kill it as its preferable, and it's like your killing a Mushrik.

I'll put the narration up tomorrow, don't have the book on me.

Is there any specific attribute mentioned in Hadith or commentary regarding killing snakes? I mean there are plenty of aquatic and land dwelling snakes which have no venom and very shy in nature. Should these be killed also?

Exactly! That sister had excellent akhlaaq and haya. And I thought I was the only one who noticed. Masha'Allah.

Lol no. It's a way to keep notes you take from your books. You can easily find them after time and also helps with memorizing exact quotes.

I read in the biography of maulana Yusuf Khandhlawi رحمة الله عليه on how he used to take notes from the books he read, then I stared to ever since.
