one of the purposes of tabligh jamaat is to bring the deen and sunnah into ones life. marriage is half of deen and a sunnah. why put restrictions on this sunnah? is it any of a lesser sunnah?

Dear members, Shaytaan always tries to spoil ikhlaas of the people who go out and make sacrifice for Deen. My intention behind posting this stuff was to show one of the traps of Shaytaan. Please don't take it as Tableegh bashing/criticizing effort and try to understand from my perspective.

Insha'Allah we appreciate your reminder brother Black Turban, jazakAllah khayran.

I guess it would be difficult for sisters who want to go in mastoorat jamaat if they felt there was always pressure of marriage proposals when they don't want to deal with such things at all. Or, if it became 'the' place to find a spouse and people started going just for that reason... I suppose such things could spoil it for others and turn it into an 'exclusive' event which insha'Allah it is not and wasn't intended to be (aside from the logistic exclusions).

yes you are right. that could pose problems. however, i wouldnt think bad of anyone if they did try to find a pious spouse through any halal means including tabligh jamaat. in our community people have made marriage difficult and illicit relationships easy. i personally know several people who would like to get married to pious, allah fearing wives with good akhlaak. however, the restrictions and taboos we have in our muslim communities have made it difficult for them. on the flip side, go to any college/university and you will see muslim men and women entering into relationships freely without any obstacles.

I agree with you brother xs11ax. Ajeeb how things are flipping upside-down like that. May Allah Ta'aala flip them right-side-up for our ummah, ameen.

I've heard that back in the day, people used to get married, or seek proposals while out in Jama'ah but when it was observed that this was the main reason for going out in Jama'ah (and not to make islah of one's own self and increase Iman) then the Ulama' in Da'wah and Tabligh began to discourage it...sort of along the lines of preventing a lot of people from becoming like 'Muhajir Umm Qaiys' or like that hadith of striving in the path of Allah with a niyyah for other than Allah and a person will be resurrected in such a state...

But a solution would be to inquire about proposals of those who spent time in Jama'ah while you, and they are not actually in Jama'ah. You can ask about a man or woman if they spend time in Jama'ah without actually doing that during your time...simple really. It's not a big deal to go about in that way to preserve the importance of these two things in Deen.

To Allah we belong and unto Him is our return. O Allah, recompense me for my affliction and replace it for me with something better.

JazakAllah khayran.

It looks like the transliteration needs some work - should it be 'ajurni' and 'akhluf' instead, insha'Allah?

Not sure sister, the source has the same as yours.

Quote:
Umm Salamah رضي الله عنه reported that Allah's Messenger(pbuh) said: "Whenever an affliction strikes a muslim and he says, as Allah commanded him, "Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajiun. Allahumma ajirni fi musibati, wa akhlif li khayran minha To Allah we belong, and to Him will we return O Allah, reward me for my affliction and replace it for me with that which is better," Allah will then surely replace it for him with that which is better."

The actual dua I posted is a gif image. So I can't verify.

Can an Arabic expert please help out.
