It is degrading for us because we are women and it is offensive to us on that count.

It is a useful strategy for him because he is a man and this is one of the arsenal in his line of defense whenever he encounters (non-mehram) women in the real-world.

We'll continue to be offended and he'll continue to deploy his weapons.

The comment runs parallel to a dumb blonde joke - not saying it is, just saying it resembles one. There are similar 'jokes' about all sorts of physical appearances, nationalities, faiths. Best to stay away from them. But... the women's issue thing, it sort of falls back on what Malcolm X said so beautifully (in his case, it was about the Afro-American human being), masha'Allah:
