Just got my latest toy. HTC Sensation XL to go with the Desire HD, Desire S, & HTC HD2. (missing my HTC wildfire, HTC Touch and HTC Diamond, these smaller phones were still better than my xphone)
Why somany? The HD2 is Awesome, I can change the operating system from Windows 6.5 to Windows 7 or any Android version. brilliant. Why the HD, well someone has to inheret the mrs' phone and the Desire S, thats just the right size for work. In fact it is the phone that compares to the iPhone and beats it.
Oh and the most basic of these or in fact any of the other brands allows one to BlueTooth to each other, change the ringtones to what ever you like without any issues, no need to jailbreak them etc etc, unlike the iPhone.
I wonder what interesting features any iPhone can do. Jailbreaking doesn't help, tried that too.
1. Open Source
2. Gigantic development
3. Progress rate
4. You're not limited to what Google wants
5. The Muftisays App is on Android
My Top 5 reasons to choose iPhone over Android
1. If an app is on iphone as well as Android, the iphone version is 99% of the times better
2. Apple customer support is apparently excellent
3. NLOLAIAS but I can't think of any more
4. Erm
5. All of the above
Can anyone recommend a good phone, it can be HTC, Apple or Samsung, the only issues I have with my present phone, is the internal memory, can't open attachments on emails, mainly documents, needs to have type of camera that I can use facetime (this is mainly for supporting a vulnerable person) not really fussy as long as its efficient with dowloading documents, and has good phone memory, it would be helpful, so many phones on the market its so confusing.
To be honest, so far every HTC I had was perfect, it did everything I wanted and much more. The only issue I ever had was with a HTC Desire HD and that was only because of 3, it didn't as it didn't support HTML emails. I returned it and got one offline and was perfect. My desire S can do everything the iPhone can as far as I know, it also has a front camera for video calls etc. The most important point is that it costs a lot less than the iPhone.
It all depends on what you will use it for.
Setbacks as mentioned before is that the Arabic fonts are currently backwards. Apart from that, you can customize your handset without iTunes, you can make changes to the handset without a pc, anytime and all the time. You can Bluetooth any other device and not like the iPhone where you can only blue tooth each other. Very restricted on iPhone.
Samsung has some great handsets too, but never really got used to them Maulana Yasin and brother Muadh will be able to give you better advice on them.
Yesterday, I picked up the sensation xl, the sales man was moaning that he was stuck with his iPhone until his contract expired. He said he can't do the simplest of things with it and everyone he knows dumped their iPhones. In fact he tried to sell me the HTC One X and said that it would make the iPhone look like a child's toy. I didn't for the one X because it was almost twice the price. (i got it offline)
Whenever I meet my cousins or friends, I tell them I've got the best wallpaper or ringtone ever and I tell them I'll Bluetooth it to them. Feeling gutted, they respond with, "You can't, I've got an iPhone"
How much phone memory does the HTC desire s have? I wouldn't mind staying with HTC as I've got use to the phone settings. At the moment I've got HTC wildfire s, and I have to keep clearing the cache and deleting items to free up storage space or the handset can't update.
The desire s has an option for external memory. I've got 8gig which is more than enough as I don't store lectures or nasheeds etc.
MEMORY
Card slot microSD, up to 32GB
Internal 1.1 GB ROM, 768 MB RAM
Most of my posts uploads of photos etc is done from the desire s, including this post. People wonder why I'm always on Muftisays, simple, I subscribe to threads relevant to me and I get an email instantly then I log on and reply if needed. But if I'm doing something or if I'm outdoors, then it depends on the topic.
You can take a look at Gsmarena.com to compare handsets.
I'm NOT trying to sell you the HTC, I'm trying to make aware of the limitations of iPhone.
Would you know if Samsung phones support the Arabic font?
As far as I know, I doesn't support it straight out of the box. You will have to root it. And if you don't know what that means, I wouldn't bother looking into it.Brother Muadh has done it.The One X is available and is very good but slim and looks like lt can snap. Lol.
This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
