Great and not so great!

My software update for the HTC One X has taken me to Android 4.2.2 with HTC Sense 5.

The great thing is that there is no BlinkFeed unless I choose it, YIPPEEEE!

Camera options have improved but without "Zoe" - Moving Photos, pretty neat, I must admit.

Pull down menu has changed big time! with a new battery percentage indicator on the top. (Yes, I know its old)

THEY CHANGED MY TRADITIONAL EXCELLENT HTC ANIMATED WEATHER CLOCK FOR THE NEW ONE :-(
The old one is still there in a bigger size! No problem.

So far so good.

You can still do the check anyway. When you move your phone away from the ear, the screen comes back on so you cant tell. Especially on the Desire S!

But the problem on the HTC One is that the phone is so wide and the sensors don't get covered so if the cheek touches the scree, you can cut the call off :-( One solution was to use the phone on the right ear, amazing!

Why should the right ear make difference to left ear, many users including myself hold the phone with the shoulder and ear if busy working with both hands, presume that would cut the call, would it?

I've never noticed this on the desire s!

True, (i love this new keypad)

But when holding the phone to the ear, the sensor falls past the ear, depending on the user. But if on the right, it tends to get covered, again depending on the user.

For me it's okay and I tend to use it on the shoulder a lot too. Now that my phone has the same interface, I will need to check it out in detail because my job involves the phone and computer a lot. Arghh, Khair inshaAllah it'll be fine.

Since you bought it up, I wanted to suggest two more options.

1) Jazakallah (saves one from posting, yet acknowledging)
2) OK (as an acknowledgement to say, "yep, I got it) saves the one posting from wondering if they got through)

These don't have to affect the the ratings.

Sorry for making it look like how it is, it's just that I know what you want or need, so just advising! (as well as otherd)

I downloaded the Android sensor app on both handsets and the one X outperforms the HTC One.

Now I only see the HTC One as a better looking phone with maybe 3 features that the One X can't have.

Anyone wanting to buy the HTC One must know that the sensor is really bad. Apart from that very vital piece of hardware, the rest of the phone is awesome.

The One X will not have
1: Front speakers.
2: Zoe moving photos/gallery (but this may be possible later)
3: infrared remote control for TVs etc.

I don't see any other differences except the look.

Both handsets run on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly bean) and HTC sense 5

Apart from that the 1 thing the one X has but the One doesn't is the option of not wanting the blink feed as a wallpaper. Volume is perfect whereas the One is just too loud even on minimum.

Youtube Video

This video shows the same app I used but in this case the sensor didn't work at all. Seems to be a common fault

The HTC One remote works very nicely for me, I thought I'd never need it.

I fit a remote light switch a few years ago in my bedroom with a "remote control dimmer switch" works very well and now just setup my phone to the same thing, amazing. So now I can dim the lights, switch them on or switch them off all with the phone.

Unfortunately, I couldn't program the Office Air Conditioning unit to it, because that is the one thing i'd love to switch off! I guess I should've got the Galaxy S4 or the LG G2, nevermind. Picture quality, sound quality etc etc still outperforms them ;-)

Remote Controlled Dimmer 1 Gang Dimmer switch and remote was only £18 from Wickes, but no longer available, sorry!

Brazil says "iphone" trademark doesn't belong to Apple; Apple pushes back

Gradiente won the trademark but didn't make use of it until late 2012.

Apple is fighting back against its Brazilian trademark loss over the "iphone" name. The company filed an appeal following Wednesday's decision by Brazil's copyright office, the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI), which awarded the "iphone" trademark to a company named Gradiente Eletronica SA. As noted by Reuters, Gradiente now has 60 days to prove that it has been using the trademark; otherwise it may be handed back to Apple.

Gradiente is an electronics maker that filed for the iPhone trademark in Brazil in 2000 but did not use it for years. The company's trademark application was approved in 2008, a year after Apple launched its iPhone-Gradiente restructured and formed IGB Electronica SA, which eventually launched its own line of "iPhones" in December of 2012.

INPI handed Gradiente a win in the trademark dispute earlier this week, undoubtedly due to its early filing on the iPhone trademark. But Apple wants it back and has challenged the decision. Now, Gradiente has to prove that it actually did make use of the trademark between 2008 and 2013 or it risks losing "iphone" back to Apple.

DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS "EVER"

Amazing strength, yet it could crack in the most simplistic ways too.
