Since I've been pushing Android (after my rant with Apple) and currently Virgin Mobile to help my fellow brothers and sisters, here is an App that may be of good use to you.

play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.virginmedia.and...

The point of sharing this is that there may be one for your own network too. (Please read the small print before installing)

Hmm! I wonder.

Well at least they feel content with the response. A thumbs down from someone could've driven him away.

But brother Rahim, The iPhone does that too. In fact the iPhone apps are the insipration to many of these Andorid apps. The difference is that most of the apps are free on android, and those same apps may need a payment for on Apple. And the bigger difference is that Android has improved "daily/monthly/yearly" yet the improvements by Apple come once in a few years and they dont make much difference anyway.

Asslamo Allaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

After a brief stint with Windows 8 I am back on Android. Windows 8 is good but not customisable. Two solid cheap phones Android packaged with features:

  1. Lenovo A820 (Not available in Europe) : Import from this Chinese company and you get GoogleApps and English ROM unlocked and rooted. Seriously powerful hardware and fast phone. Get your Chinese phones from this site and you will be satisfied
  2. Huawei Y300 (launched 06JUNE2013) : Budget Phone and if you buy from Carphone warehouse open to all Networds by default. Good perforamance.

Was informed in-store that the HTC desire no longer stored in high street shops as it has been replaced by the HTC one x, which is a much pricier phone then HTC desire s, but does very little more. A cheaper phone HTC desire c is more available but a very weak handset, in my opinion.

Might buy one and keep it, found the one x too big to be carrying around and unsafe to use outdoors. JazakAllah for the information.

Hey, Apple have finally done something great!

They have completely changed the look of their software and incorporated many of the features that others had a long time ago. And they've even added a few of their own.

If I was to be buy an iPhone, then this might be the one, seriously!

Watch "Where iOS 7 Features Come From!" on YouTube - www.youtube.com/watch?v=QrM25jqhXdA

Jazakallah brother rizmalik for sharing this video.

Well almost!

Why would I?

Because it can now do so many things that the older android and Windows were able to do a few years ago.
Because its a quality handset.

Why wouldn't I?

If android and windows mobile were able to do all those things many years ago, then can you imagine what it can do now.
I'd still need to sync it.
I wouldn't be able to use it as an external storage device. What a waste of space.
MuftiSays app is just too awesome on the android (if only it was as good for the iPhone)
I still wouldn't be able to share files, pictures, ringtones etc with other brands.
I still wouldn't be able to have custom ringtones
And I could go on, but there's no need, this is a good upgrade.

A Very well done to Apple for finally producing something worth talking about.

Can see another thread coming up soon saying 'moved to apple'.

Still can't beat the Android market, and a lot of the features of ios 7 have been taken from other brands. Some users so far have had no issues with the iphone handset itself, but many have had functional issues which has proved to be costly in the long run. Which still makes it little off putting, especially with having to sync, and no sd card, and find the handset quite bulky.

Think eventually will have to consider scrapping use of sd card, as the new and upcoming phones don't have this feature. Will hold off buying new handset, with the companies competing with each other will wait and see what the market brings next. Not sure, think the s4 mini might be something to consider.

http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/news/2276006/huawei-ascend-p6-is-priced-at-gbp329-uk-ahead-of-4-july-release

This new Huawei Handset looks like the iPhone 5 but better.

If only we can just stick to one phone and carry on with life, but No! Technology changes so fast and so do our needs for the Dunya, its amazing (Mind you, we/I only use it for work and the Deen)

CHINESE PHONE MAKER Huawei announced its latest flagship Ascend P6 smartphone on Tuesday, as the firm continues its push to compete with the big names in the industry.

In a bid to rival the Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One, Huawei has stuffed the Ascend P6 with "innovative features" such as a 5MP front-facing camera and a redesigned user interface, along with a super-thin casing that measures just 6.18mm thick.

Design
At just 6.18mm thick, there's not much to the Ascend P6. However, that's not to say there's not a lot to like, as the handset is very light at 120g and feels comfortable to use thanks to its slender profile.

Huawei Ascend P6 is 6.18mm thick

There's no doubting, though, that Huawei has taken inspiration from Apple when it comes to the design of the Ascend P6. Its edges are curvier and its bezel is smaller, but the aluminium edging of the device makes it look and feel a lot like an iPhone. This is not a bad thing as we've long praised the iPhone as one of the best designed phones on the market, but with Android users not often huge fans of the iPhone this potentially could damage the phone's chances of success.

Google in my bad books for doing deal with Israel.

Quote:
Google has purchased the free mobile navigation app Waze, reportedly beating rivals Facebook and Apple to the deal.

The internet company apparently paid around $1bn (657m) for the Israeli start-up business, which combines online maps with updates about traffic jams, roadworks and accidents.

A statement on the company's official blog described the app as a "great source of timely road corrections and updates".

"To help you outsmart traffic, today we're excited to announce we've closed the acquisition of Waze," it added.

"This fast-growing community of traffic-obsessed drivers is working together to find the best routes from home to work, every day."

The app already has a base of nearly 50 million users who rely on the combination of GPS software with social networking features that allow users to add information to create a picture of road networks in real time.

This allows drivers to change their routes as accidents or traffic jams are reported.

The Waze buyout is said to be among the largest private company sales in Israeli history.

Google hopes the takeover will enhance its own navigation system, Google Maps, with some of the traffic update features.

It said the Waze product development team will remain in Israel and operate separately for the moment

Which phone are you using at the moment? I've really battered my desire s, its in a bit of a state at the moment, so is my laptop. Thinking of getting a galaxy tab, but bit nervous because I've only had experience with the iPad. Don't want to spend all that money then have change of heart thereafter.

Mainly use it for writing, coursework etc, so would need to get attachable keyboard, as the screen keyboard is just not functional enough.

Also find laptop difficult to take from place to place. It's amazingly still working after being dropped numerous times, due to having to carry so many things. Can only get max 40min use at the moment, battery getting extremely hot, then having to use it plugged in due to short battery life.
