Not sure if this is the right thread for this but I recieved the following and wondering if anyone can advise
I dont know how to even test it so can someone please test it and see if it works because I know people who it can be useful to..

Assalamu Alaikum! I made a web-app for the elderly.

Backstory: my Nani used to be very punctual with her prayers but suddenly she stopped praying. My mom promptly noticed this change and asked her why she wasn’t praying and she said that it’s because she forgets the ayat, or what to say, or even the rakat. So my mom would sit with her and basically pray the whole namaz with her. Now years later my mom asked me to make an app that could assist the elderly with their namaz. So I made this web-app. If you guys know anyone that’s at an age where they’re starting to forget things and you think this could benefit them. Just let them know about it and let me get that sawab.

Thanks,

A good idea.

I came across this a few weeks ago, shared by a revert who found it really useful. Looks like this can also be used by the elderly too.

Nice little touch by Apple. Targeting the Arabs ;) and Muslims.

iOS 16: How to Change the Lock Screen Clock to Arabic Indic

In iOS 16, Apple has introduced a variety of customization options for the iPhone Lock Screen, including the ability to add widgets and style the look of the digital clock.

Among the new changes you can make to the digital clock readout on the Lock Screen, Apple now allows you to switch the time display from Arabic numerals to Arabic-Indic symbols.

The following steps show you how it's done in ‌iOS 16‌.
  • Unlock your ‌iPhone‌ with Face ID or Touch ID.
  • Press and hold on the Lock Screen to activate the gallery view.
  • If necessary, swipe to the Lock Screen wallpaper you want to edit, then tap Customize.
  • Tap within the frame surrounding the time to bring up the editor panel.
  • Tap the globe icon in the top-left corner of the Font & Color panel.

  • Select Arabic Indic from the options.
  • When you're finished editing, tap Done in the top-right corner of the screen.
  • Tap the Lock Screen in the wallpaper gallery to activate it.

Note that you can customize the current Lock Screen at any time by invoking the gallery view from the Lock Screen with a long press, or by going into Settings -> Wallpapers.

Anyone with a Ring wireless Doorbell and Virgin Media Broadband issues?

I've had mine for sometime now and it worked well. But the moment I changed Internet service provider, my doorbell and chimes went offline and only worked intermittently :(

1 month with issues, 3 routers, multiple access points and nothing worked. Read upon solutions upon solution and nothing worked.

FINALLY! Alhumdulillah, came across one solution and that did the trick for me.

I changed the 2.4ghz wifi channels from auto to manual. The ring devices only like channels 1-12 and can only operate on the 2.4Ghz freq, but there are 14 channels in this frequency, so when the channel is above 12, my doorbell would just disconnect.

So I changed to manual channel 6, set an SSID for the 2.4Ghz and kept the 5Ghz with a different name and all of a sudden, everything came back on line and stayed online, Alhumdulillah.

So, if you've come across this issue or know someone who has, this was the fix that worked for me :)

Following USB-C standardization, EU now wants smartphones to feature replaceable batteries

By Sean- Jun 19, 2023

The EU (European Union) is apparently planning on bring back an old staple feature that has almost completely disappeared from the smartphone industry. A new rule is being pushed for the return of batteries that can be replaced by users.

EU to wants to bring back replaceable batteries within the next five years
The European Parliament recently approved a new rule that is based around the production, design, and recycling of all rechargeable batteries that are being sold in the region. This new rule will not only electric vehicles but even portable batteries for mobile devices like smartphones, tablets, and more. It will require manufacturers to make design changes that will allow users to remove the batteries and replace them on their own. This is also in line with one of our previous reports regarding removable batteries returning.

Don't always rely on tech. Sometimes, it's better to use your brain :)

Example below, both answers can be right!
