Flat battery in your mobile? Time to panic: Nine out of ten Britons feel stressed when their devices run out

According to the research, carried out by smartphone case maker mophie, 92 per cent of British people would feel stressed if the battery in their smartphone ran out, highlighting the increasing dependence we place on technology.

Kevin Malinowski, a spokesman for mophie, said: 'Millions of people rely on their smartphones daily to stay in touch with loved ones and do work on the move.

'But all of these activities hinge on a single factor: having enough juice to keep the phones running.'

The survey found that the number one issue for smartphone owners without battery power is the inability to make or receive calls, with 59 per cent citing this as the biggest issue.

The research also found that beyond stress, a range of negative emotions would be brought on in users if their battery ran out. 61 per cent said they would become frustrated, with 25 per cent saying they would feel panicked.

The results also emphasised the reliance we place on smartphones, with almost half of those surveyed saying that if their mobile phone died they would only be able to remember three phone numbers at best.

Such is the reliance that more than 70 per cent said they would give up having pudding after a meal or watching TV in order to have a fully charged smartphone for a month.

However, the survey also found that the impact of smartphones on daily life goes beyond just emotion, with 81 per cent saying that their smartphone dying led them to have a negative experience.

These ranged from missing an important call to making a friend or loved one angry and not being able to access needed information.

The findings come just days after a new report found that many young people in the UK have felt at some point that they are addicted to the internet.

In order to combat this addiction, which was acknowledged by more than 39 per cnet of those asked, experts have suggest people should resist the urge of taking their devices to bed, and try to have set unplugged periods during the week.

In a list created as part of the mophie survey of the most desired items to have in a natural disaster, a mobile phone came second only to water, and ahead of food and TV and radio.

Android user sues Apple for not delivering texts after she ditched her iPhone

A former iPhone user is suing Apple for not delivering her text messages after switchingto a competitor's smartphone.

The lawsuit follows similarcomplaintsbyex-iPhone users, in which they claim they aren't receiving text messages after leaving iOS for Android.

Source

Apple is reportedly aware of the issue, but has no clue how to fix it, which is the big problem.Data messaging has become a popular alternative to traditional SMS, and iMessage itself is a pretty solid service that integrates seamlessly with regular texts. But since it defaults to iMessage, when a user switches away from iOS, it apparently has a hard time recognizing this, even when disconnecting Apple accounts from the service. That's why people aren't receiving messages at all. In this case, it seems like it's Apple's fault, since the bug doesn't occur when switching between any other platform.

Back in the day 'Nokia' was untouchable,

Today I wouldn't even go near it.

To be honest functionality wise I still prefer iPhone, need to check out a Samsung though and see how that performs, a mate of mine a die hard apple fan, Samsung managed to convert him and he's loving it. I guess different strokes for different people.

For me, it is back to Nokia after all those HTC and Samsung. To be frank I hate android. Used it since eclaires days. Before that Windows mobile was my pet. Now gone back to Windows. I like Windows phone simplicity, and the fact that I am not feeding google.

Good point brother.

I hate feeding Google and Apple. I've fed Microsoft too but what can one do?

One way or the other, it's all going back to NSA

Microsoft at least is alot charitable. And that too he isn't a Zionist. And is not on mission to collect every data of each human. Maybe I am being too cynical but google seems to be on a data hunting mission.
Yeah it is true that they all have to bow down to nsa. Sad.
Thanks for liking my point.

Google has been like that for time to be honest, it's just that they are more open about it and don't see any harm in doing so. It's also a major reason for me to be put of by google products from the start, even though the nexus and others was a hit when it first came out.

If you think Google are bad, you've missed some posts on the iPhone.

Apple track every movement even with GPS or data switched off. They have been exposed severely all over the American news.

Do you know why android have so many different options fro example, different software's to send an sms? And why Apple only restrict what they approve? Simply so they know what's being sent and to whom with the full contents.

There's so many examples of it.

With android, you're stuck with Google.
With iOS you're stuck with Apple
With Windows, you're stuck with Microsoft.

With android and Windows, you're stuck with their domain for app downloads etc. With Apple, well they've already taken a bite out and you are very limited to do anything. Apple owners are owned by by Apple!

Secret admirer of iPhones!
(in denial)

Was reading about rumours about iphone 6 and maybe soon after release of an iPhone phablet handset, which sounds good.

The battery life on my HTC one x seems to be deteriorating, was thinking of getting a phablet, want to stick to HTC, because I've heard the response on Samsung is slower in comparison, not sure if HTC have got anything in the pipeline for a phablet, I'd rather wait for a new handset then go for the HTC max.

To be honest, at the moment, the S5 battery seems to be superb. Although the M8 are releasing updates for more battery saving.

AND

The iPhone 6 is being compared to the HTC One M7 and not the M8, I wonder why.

Ok Jazakallah...that's quite confusing, because the reviews on HTC max are better than the m7.

The HTC One Max is a Phablet, so bigger screen.

My wife has the max, I have the normal one and my son has the mini.

Each has a small difference, each good in their own way.
