As seems typical with iOS updates, the release of iOS 7 didn't go smoothly. Thousands of keen iPhone and iPad users tried to download the iOS 7 update as soon as it went live at 6PM UK time, but it looks like these same users quickly flocked to Facebook and Twitter to moan about the problems they encountered trying to download and install it. It seems some users inundated with error messages after trying to install the software, while others were unable to download it at all.
One user complained on Twitter, "I set iOS 7 to download overnight and I woke up to 'an error occurred.' Great." Another frustrated downloader said that while installing the update, which took two hours, their phone crashed, had to be restored, but they lost all of their images and music.
In fact, there were so many people trying to get their hands on the iOS overhaul that it crashed WiFi servers at several colleges across the US, Business Insider reported.�
Apple has yet to comment on these problems, despite the download failures likely having occurred because the firm's network and servers infrastructure couldn't handle the huge surge in traffic. We've contacted Apple for more information.
Those that have managed to download iOS 7 successfully might be in for a bit of a shock, though, as the update is the most radical that Apple has released since the launch of the first iPhone.
