This is what I found from 3 store:
A rolling (or 'rollover') contract is one that renews itself automatically after each month. There's no fixed end date, so you can keep it running hassle-free as long as you like and can cancel it at any time simply by giving a month's notice.

The payment options are the same as for our pay monthly contracts, with most people choosing to pay via direct debit.

How long am I committed for?

That's the beauty of Three's 30 day rolling contract: you're only committed for 30 days at a time, but you still benefit from the flexibility of a short-term contract together with the freedom to run it as long-term as you like, with the option to change, cancel or upgrade it at time.

Plus, we find our customers often choose to keep their rolling contracts going, as the text and call rates usually work out even cheaper in the long run.

This Offer

Has now been improved with another new offer.

Virgin Media has launched a new tariff, combining no limits on data, calls and texts.

Aimed at cost-conscious consumers, the VIP SIM only tariff is priced £15 per month and operates over a 30-day contract. As well as no restrictions on cross-network, anytime call minutes, takers qualify for unlimited calls to Virgin Media numbers.

This week also saw Virgin Media unveil a new VIP-branded deal that is the first to include unrestricted calls to 0800, 0870, 0845 and 0808 numbers, alongside unfettered mobile web usage, calls to standard UK landlines and mobiles and texts.

Everything unlimited for £15 a month. Monthly contract, SIM only deal

Dont take my word for it, make sure you read the fine print or ask the questions when buying.

The 08 numbers are a good selling point, but make sure you are clear on what that means.

Virgin Mobile wrote:

Coverage here, there and everywhere

We already cover 99% of the UK population, and now you can also use your mobile on the Orange network, so you'll be able to stay in touch here, there and pretty much everywhere.

Your phone will automatically use the Orange signal, where there isn't Virgin Media coverage. Best of all, you'll still pay the same great value Virgin Mobile rates.

Reply to PM for quick view.

WasSalaam.

Two years ago when I first got the desire s, i installed Skype only to test it with the desire HD which my wife had so she could talk to her parents abroad.

It worked with video flawlessly. In fact it worked better than her HD because of the front facing camera. The desire s was designed for this sort of thing.

You are most definitely doing something wrong as I've been there and done that. Unless Skype has changed their settings. but i doubt that.

Just Google it, plenty of videos out there showing you it works. Hope that helps.

As I mentioned before, the desire s is still one of the best Handsets out there for its price and size.

The newer handsets on all android have removed flash player from the device making them as rubbish as the iPhone now, but at the same time still a lot better still. The only way at the moment to get flash player on one of the newer designs is by getting the HTC ONE, it has its own sort of flash player built in.
Otherwise an app will solve that problem as usual.

Hope that helps.

(by the way, the threads are a lot easier, I still haven't received the PM asking me about this. Its just that I saw it waiting for it to be authorized by an independent person. At least on the thread I get an email and can respond more or less straight away, depending on where I am)

Ok that was really helpful, jazakAllah. Probably something In my phone settings, or Skype settings, very glad to hear it works on this handset. I'll just have to keep experimenting until I've Sussed it out, insha.Allah.

I've also noticed a lot of the phone companies have stopped offering the HTC desire s, but making offers on the HTC desire c. I'm glad I got this handset when I did. Thanks to this thread. If I had to pay for it and buy it again, without any plans or offers, I definitely would.

Apologies. I've been trying to reply immediately, but the area I'm in won't allow me due to regular spammers.

Having Skype work fully will depend on which network you are on too for video calling as some networks wont allow VoIP.

Try it on WiFi, see if that works. One other thing you could do is ask your network provider if they allow it or not, then ask them if you could be moved to the iPhone tariff at no extra cost.

(The PM's still haven't been authorised)

This is a very old post from an independent website.

Quote:
By now, you should all know about Skype, the immensely popular video-chatting service that allows users to have video conversations over the PC. Though anyone with a PC and an internet connection can use Skype to it's fullest potential, Skype's Android application has only allowed video calling for a grand total of 4 Android devices. (Nexus S, SE Xperia Neo, SE Xperia Pro, HTC Desire S).

That's all changing today. Skype has added support for a whopping 17 additional devices. The additional devices supported in today's release are:
Acer A5
HTC Desire
HTC Desire HD
HTC Evo 3D
HTC Evo 4G
HTC Flyer
HTC Incredible S
HTC Sensation
HTC Thunderbolt
LG Revolution
Samsung Droid Charge
Samsung Galaxy S
Samsung GalaxyS II
Samsung Galaxy Tab
Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro
Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY
Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray

Skype's video chat services are now being supported on 21 Android devices-benefit for current Skype users. It also provides an alternative to the current crop of video chat services such as Qik, Google Talk and Tango.

This is an interesting move, given the fact that Microsoft now owns Skype. And even though it's not clear what they'll do with it at this point, it's obvious they'll turn Skype's focus towards other Microsoft products like Windows Phone. Eventually, Skype could very well become the default video calling app for Windows Phone. Whether or not that will affect the Android and iOS version of the product is yet to be seen. We hope we'll continue to see a multi-platform approach to Skype.

Much has improved since!

Hope that answers your question.
