Cancelling his contract tomorrow, 30days notice which still gives me time to find the right plan for him. So far 3 seems to have most suited sim only deal, then just thinking of buying the HTC desire s for him from internet, just bit worried about receiving faulty phone, and getting added headache.

I've never bought a phone (second hand) from the net, if that's what you mean.

I either buy them new or refurbished online or computer exchange. You should be able to pick up a desire S for about 100 with 1 year guarantee.

(im selling my Grey S3, brand new in the box from Madinah for 300. Sorry admin, didn't mean to advertise)

Pop into a computer exchange or Google it and get an idea of what you would be paying.

Sorry, missed this post as I came from the app direct.

Tesco have this thing called CAP, where the bill cant go above the set ill, if you need to go over, or go over, then just top up.

II'm sure other networks do that too, just ask them about it.

uk.webuy.com/phones/product.php?mastersku=SHTCSAGA

£140 for a new Desire S but only available to order online. You can get it cheaper if you don't mind it being locked on one network.

I have decided to switch my Phone again from Windows to Android ; got bored and testing the new Huawei Ascend G510 Dual Core Android

There is now an official unlock available in UK but I havce ordered mine from HongKong via ebay (better deal)

Initial Positives:

  1. Cheap
  2. Huge Screen
  3. Dual-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A9 Qualcomm MSM8225 Snapdragon
  4. NFC

Initial Negatives:

  1. only 512MB of RAM so switching between applications won't be instant
  2. No Gorilla case so phone will get scrached up
  3. Platsic case so again will get scratched up
  4. Bloatware (so will have to root and put a Custom ROM)
  5. Low Resolution (it would matter for people watching movies etc) but somehow it wouldn't make a difference for watching HanafiFiqhChannel

:-) Will put my Windows Phone on ebay when this one comes along...

Finally:

Sold the S3 for 303 to computer exchange (voucher) as I always buy from them anyway and took out a monthly contract with Virgin for 12 a month, monthly contract so not stuck to a 12 month contract, comes with 1200 mins, unlimited sms, and 1gb data. As its on virgin it means it will use T-Mobiles network and when T-Mobile is not around, the network will pick up orange, so basically always covered.

Hope that helps (didn't want to go via PM as it would take longer for it to be authorized etc etc)

That a very good deal, especially with the coverage, didn't know it was possible for phone companies to use two servers for coverage. Definitely going to look into virgin mobiles, very useful information, jazakAllah.

How does the one month deals work?, do you need to update your contract every month, or does it continue to roll, until you decide otherwise?

That's right. It continues every month until you cancel. I would recommend buying from virgin direct as CPWH are having issues with virgin.

What happens if virgin decide to stop doing a specific month only plan? As plans and packages change all the time?
