APPLE
Apple is one of those very few companies that do not have the company name in their logo. Yet, the Apple logo is one of the most recognized corporate symbols in the world. The logo is perfectly balanced, and the outlines that map the logo are circles with diameters proportionate to the Fibonacci series. Did Rob Janoff really considered the Fibonacci series while designing it, or is it a coincidence? Well, somebody needs to ask Mr. Janoff. Interestingly, in a different context, in an interview, Rob Janoff said, “… and years later you find out supposedly why you did certain things. And, they are all BS. It’s a wonderful urban legend.”

With Samsung having finally just announced its latest flagship effort, the Galaxy S4, it’s inevitable that the comparisons will immediately be drawn between it and some of the other high-end handsets currently gracing the market. Although the iPhone 5 naturally springs to mind, a rivaling vendor, HTC, also finally looks to have delivered a respectable contender to market with the One device.
I attended the launch ceremony of the One in Central London, and although I went expecting very little in light of the spec’d-out-yet-disappointing HTC One X and One X+ handsets, I was pleasantly surprised by how much effort and research the Taiwanese company had put into its 2013 effort. Clad in an iPhone 5-esque aluminum unibody, it’s one of the first Android devices to offer something other than the cheapy, plastic build, and if it is to even make a slight dent in the rampant juggernaut that is Samsung’s Android presence, consumers will need to be sold on the build quality.
Why is the build such a big deal? Well, as you will see from the comparison chart below, the Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One are rather similar in specifications; both offering the very highest-end hardware in the major categories.
Those with an affinity to Samsung, or have simply grown used to picking up the latest Galaxy as a matter of second nature, will probably stick to their guns. However, for those who like to assess the market and newer handsets before coming to a decision, HTC could certainly sneak some of that precious market share back from its Korean rival.
The iPhone 5, meanwhile, just has to be included in the comparison purely because of its status, and although it’s half a generation behind these two Android titans, the Cupertino flagship still knows how to party.
Whether you opt for the Galaxy S4, the HTC One or the iPhone 5 is entirely your prerogative, but if you want an objective run-down of how the big three smartphones fare against each other, you’ve come to the right place.

NOTE: THE ONE HAS DROPPED DOWN ON THE CAMERA FROM 8 MEGAPIXELS TO 4.
Samsung decided to escalate the megapixel race once again, packing in a 13-megapixel camera into the S4. But as you should know by now, megapixels aren't everything, and that's exactly what HTC is banking on with its new ultrapixel gambit. It's technically only 4 megapixels, but those pixels are considerably larger, which means better low light performance.
My conclusion on the 3 devices.
S4 still lacks the real colour on the screen and will still feel plasticy, great technology applied, but who will use all that? HTC ONE perfect size, great technology and too advanced for the iphone 5 even if they claim it copies it. I dont care, as long as it does not copy its operating system. IPhone 5 has an excellent build, smooth strong finish and is very good quality but is miles behind even though it is the most sophisticated iOS to date.
The review admits that the iPhone 5 is still half a generation behind and again its all about status!

Well this thread is just sitting getting

A couple of us are looking for a new contract. My wifes contract has ended and she doesn't need a new phone, so I'm looking for something like sim only but where I can get the best value for money.
So far I have found TESCO Mobile (uses o2) with a £15 monthly contract (can cancel any time) 1GB Data, 750 Mins and plenty of SMS. or even 2GB but with a 12 month contract.
T-Mobile had a similar offer where everything was unlimited for only £16 a month (annual contract I think). Is there anything out there you could recommend. Jazakallahu Khair.
This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
Please wait...
