My son felt so much pity for me. I came home and told my wife, she kindly offered me her HTC Sensation XL, then retracted her offer after I told she'd have to pay for most of the apps she got for free and theres no smart dialing.
Lol. for the past few days all my four year old has been hearing from her dad and my father in law is the Iphone. so today she tells me "here mum i got you a presant, its an Iphone! so ive been telling her we dont like Iphones. She asks why? not knowing how to tell her without going into detail i say "Iphones are dangerous, they give us a headache!" (subject closed alhumdulillah!)
Apple say they have the most advanced operating system to date, the ios5.
Well, I was on a call and at the same time received an SMS. Normally on the htc, the phone only vibrates and doesn't play the normal notification tone. But on the most sophisticated iOS, the stupid notification played so loud, the other person and had to move the phone away from the ear.
Hardly any decent tone available for any kind of notification.
Battery hasn't been too bad so far, still on 72% even after making about 10 calls, 2 SMS, 9 emails, and coming to muftisays.
We mustn't be afraid of the truth and we need to teach our kids to speak the truth too.
Be honest with your daughter and tell her that Muslims can not lie, and the truth is that the iPhone can't do this that and the other. Plus the apps have to be paid for on so many that would come free on android.
What's app is free on android but not on iPhone, ring tones can be downloaded straight to the phone and set to what ever you want, eg zedge, this is also a free app.
The classic one for kids is angry birds, it's free on android. I was told it had to be paid for on iPhone, not how correct that is. The sane goes for fruit ninja, the kids love that too.
A very sophisticated iOS for simple people.
My tablighi brothers would tell me to taste the beauty of spending time in the path of Allah, until then I wouldn't know how sweet it felt. So I tried it about 20 years ago and it changed my life Alhumdulillah. (although not with them now). The same goes for iPhone users. Taste the android or even windows and see the difference. inshaAllah you will regret the thumbs down you have given.
Lol brother abu mohammed you are right of course but i didnt lie to my daughter. Iphones do gibe me a headache. a really bad one to be honest. i said we like androids and she was like huh? so I said dangerous (as in like for our health). she understands that because a sister once gave her smarties thinking they were still halaal and when she came hoke we explained that she couldnt have them because they were haraam and she asked they are dangerous because Allah will get sad? hence the word dangerous is connected to all.not good in her dictionary

Lol a majority of my family have android and those who have the iphone more often than not. curse it.
iLook on the bright side of life. I am being very patient with this and at the same time giving honest advice from having experience of all types of mobiles, except blackberry. I don't even wanna think about that.

My second day at work (don't worry, it won't turn into a dairy).
I was typing an email when I received another email, it popped up on the screen with two options, read and dismiss. This happened 3 times and I selected dismiss on 3 of them, then I received a 4th email so I selected "read". After I read it, what happened, I lost the one I was typing out, it didn't even save it as a draft.
Not so smart for a smart phone!
Then I sent another email (regarding the petition) and I normally select all those people who I want to send it to on android. But on the iPhone, I had to select each person one at a time. Can you imagine doing this almost 100 times. On top of that, the iPhone shows all 620+ contacts whereas on my android i can select any email address in one go and it only displays those contacts with email addresses in them.
Not so art for a smart phone.
Khair, I've upgraded from a �699 handset to a handset that Im borrowing from a friend who paid �20 for a scruffy handset.
Good news is that I'm back on android.

I am so annoyed. I have tried everything and gone through all the tutorials and the stupid phone becomes an even more disgrace.
I have watched video after video and read forum after forum and a whole day has been wasted. No one can help!!!!! No lies.
For those of you who have iPhones: The STUPID iTunes only gives me an option for tones on the left hand side under Library and My Devices but not in the middle of the screen where it says "Summary - Info - Apps - Mussic etc etc"
The videos show a tab for "Tones" or "Ringtones" on the top middle. but not in my case and in the case of THOUSANDS of others.
If you really want to know how much people strugle trying to set a custom tone then please read this, it's help from Pro's. You might be asking why not the standard ringtone or alarm that comes with the crap phone, well its simple, I dont want it, they're worse than the phone and to top it all when it rings, every one with an iphone thinks its their phone ringing.
NO WONDER NO ONE RESPONDED TO MY ALARM QUERY. YOU CANT DO IT.
Got all my tones that I wanted, downloaded them to my PC at home. Connected the iPhone, then realised I needed iTunes on my home PC too. Downloaded iTunes, waited about 15 minutes. iTunes then said if I sync my music (tones) with this PC then I would lose ALL my other music that was synced at my work PC. So I did and I lost all my Nasheeds and lectures etc. I then synced my phone and iTunes copied over 2.5gig of mp3 files from my pc to my phone. So now I have 2.5gig of talks when all I wanted was 5 tones.
Then I down loaded a ringtone app, found the tone I wanted, sent it to my self, (I had to do this for each tone I wanted and I had to go through all 2.5 gig of data to find it. Once this was done, I had to then connect the phone to the PC again, open the app via the PC in which the tones were made, select the file I wanted and then save it to my desktop. Once saved, I had to double click on the desktop file which then automatically opened in iTunes and saved its self in the tones section. Then I had to select "sync tones" on iTunes to sync all the tones I just made, to my phone and finally I had it show up on the phone. This had to be done everytime I wanted to set a tone.
What a headache.
