The UK does not yet have widespread 4G coverage, and the iPad will be incompatible with it when it does.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-17899912

Now what a surprise.

Apple have launched their 4G product but 4G will not be available in the UK until the end of Summer. And when it is available Apple will not work with it.

So as per normal, they will probaly add a an S to it and then it will (maybe).

Apple has declined to comment.

Incompatible

4G mobile phone networks, which promise much faster web surfing, have yet to arrive in the UK.

But even when they do, the frequencies to be employed for the new networks in Britain - and the rest of Europe - are different from those used in the US and Canada.

That means that the "4G" iPad, in its current configuration, can never connect to 4G networks in Europe.

Apple is also in dispute with Australian regulators over the advertising of the iPad there.

Think twice about the One X, you will be limited unless you go for the copy version (normally sold by Orange or Vodafone)

Always try before you buy, go to a mobile phone store first. Ask them all you need, play around with hand sets. Once youve decided that it's too expensive, pop into Computer Exchange (CEX) you can see their web site "webuy..."

I took a really bad conditioned working HD2 (which I got for free) in for Exchange, they offered me a £86 Cash (No Way) or £100 Exchange voucher. I used that voucher towards buying the HTC XL. Original Price was £290 with all the kit and the guy gave me an extra £10 discount so it cost me £170 with one year warrantee.

I might just buy my son the wildfire S or Desire, an upgrade from his Samsung Galaxy Europa (small phone) because Muftisays app doesn't work on it.

I probably spend about £50 on it.

And if anyone is throwing their iPhone away, please PM me, I'll direct you to the nearest bin. lol.

What I like about my HTC HD2.

(This isn't my video) It gives me the choice of installing other operating systems. The HD2 is a Windows 6.5 Handset and is possibly still one of HTC best hadsets (technically). I had Andriod Installed as a dual boot, so I could change to windows or Android (I kept windows because of the licenced TomTom). I then formatted the phone and installed Windows 7 and the phone felt like a whole new gadget. It felt better and much faster. Anyway, since the new app is out, I'll put it back to andriod.

Dont ask how its done! I'm not very well versed on it, I pester my little brother when he's around, otherwise I have to do it with a lot of google searches.

If I'm happy with new phone, was going to sell phone back to carrier, but if your interested and your local pm admin, and will see if he can arrange suitable transaction.

Never heard of that before. If they offer any form of cashback incentive then they will pay you enough for the charger if your lucky.

Different organisations either credit your account you have with them, or bank account or send you cheque or store vouchers, I've sold back quite a few phones, they have to be in working order though. Will add the link, you just put phone model in and it tells you how much its worth. I think its really good idea, better then just having unused collection phones.

I've tried that, but they dont offer much for the handsets.

I'd rather trade them in at computer exchange, example uk.webuy.com/phones/search_results.php?manuId=9&stext=wil...

The difference is You will have to take it there, the test takes about an hour and if your lucky they cant test it straight away. They have brances open all over the place now.

If you could get more money taking it there, it will be of benefit to you. Then you can either keep all the money or donate some to a Masjid.

sorry was going to add few more phone trade-in links but got distracted. normally sell it back to carrier (vodafone), but ive heard the local mobile kiosks offer much more, especially if the packaging and accessories in tact. jzk for link will look into it.
