Assalamu Alaykum

If I have a coin each in both hands and show you one of the coins is a head, what are the chances that when I show you the other hand it will also be a head. (clue: do not jump to the obvious conclusion)

Question edited. Original question was wrong. Silly me. Try again

Nope. It might help if you write out all the possibilities

definitely not 100% as its in the other hand and therefore could be heads or tails and 50% was incorrect answer, so...

could the answer be, "Allah knows best"?!!

He's updated the questions, changed from "tail" to "head" at the end.

In which case I stick by the same answer, "no chance"

My working out:

TT

HT

HH

TH

hence i got 25% but now upon reading the question again I also think the answer has to be 50% since the events are independant of each other.

The first has event has already occured so cannot hold a value. But who am i to say.I hate statistics, i much prefer algebra or calculus.

A hand was not specified (i.e. right or left) & therefore according to Muslimah101's list the chances are one in three.

So just to get this clear, I should have included the possibilties 'showing hand' or 'not showing hand'??
