THE LION, THE DONKEY AND THE CARROTS

Upon trying to cross a river a lion met on the river bank a traveller leading a donkey with a sack of carrots tied to its neck. The lion asked the traveller if he could help him cross the river by taking him across with him in his boat. The lion had a hungry look in his eye as he stared at the donkey. The boat was very small only large enough to take two of them across at a time (without the carrots) and the traveller was the only one who could steer the boat. The traveller cannot leave the donkey alone with the carrots because the donkey would eat the carrots, and he couldn't leave the donkey behind taking the carrots first because the lion would eat the donkey.

HOW DID THEY ALL CROSS THE RIVER SAFELY WITHOUT THE LION HARMING THE DONKEY OR THE DONKEY EATING THE CARROTS?

Mind if I take a shot?

Donkey First - He comes back
Takes the carrots - Brings donkey back
Takes the lion - He comes back (lion and carrots on other side)
Takes the donkey

All done i think?
