Salam

I recently bought a telescope and after a few frustrating days getting it all aligned and set up I'm ready to go.

Does anyone in London ideally East know good spots and Muslim groups who do star gazing u can join or go. Still very new to finding things. Last few weeks have been seeing jupiter with naked eye inshallah will try look at with telescope tonight as skies are little clearer.

If there anyone else with telescope and into night sky feel free to share hints and tips.

Alhamdulillah jus managed to get amazing view of jupiter along with its red spot. Tried takin pics bt proving to be more difficult than expected.

Closest place to you would be the Wetlands in Walthamstow. Otherwise, you can try the parks nearby, although they'd probably be locked up at night.

I live 2mins from wetlands but unfortunately they lock it around 6pm. Although lea Valley remains open im not so sure if it's safe to be there alone its not lit or many people.

I took it on my phone but it needs manual mode. I set the shutter rate high and used various iso levels to decrease the glow and get clearer surfaces.

Phones work well because of the small lens. But holding it steady isn't easy and the telescope itself should be sturdy as you know a tiny move and target is gone.

You can also get a digital lens to attach to telescope and connect it to laptop so you can take photos and videos.
