Yep, mashaAllah guest, the answer is Hadhrat Adam (A.S)..

About the argument, it's in this Hadith:

Narrated By Abu Huraira : The Prophet said, "Moses argued with Adam and said to him (Adam), 'You are the one who got the people out of Paradise by your sin, and thus made them miserable." Adam replied, 'O Moses! You are the one whom Allah selected for His Message and for His direct talk. Yet you blame me for a thing which Allah had ordained for me before He created me?." Allah's Apostle further said, "So Adam overcame Moses by this Argument." [Sahih Bukhari, Volume 006, Book 060, Hadith Number 262]

Good guess, but sorry that's not the answer either.

Here's a clue:

The duration of my performance every year by the Prophet was doubled by him on the year of his demise.

MashaAllah, Taalibah you're close. (Fasting is a condition of 2 of the types - different opinions say it's not a condition but Mustahab)

And nope, not nafl Salah or Zakaat.

first i kept thinking either hajj or ummrah, but the 3 types again wouldn't fit with ummrah, however it fits with hajj as 3 types:

- tamattu
- qiraan
- ifraad

BUT you've said fasting is close,
which doesn't fit at all with the above answer.

Is it the recitation of the Holy Quraan in the month of Ramadhan?

As the Prophet used to recite the whole Quraan to Jibra'eel (A.S) in Ramadhan, but in the year of his demise he doubled his recitation

MashaAllah you're really close, although this is not the answer, it is 1 of the reasons why the duration of 'its' performance was also doubled.
