Absolutely! I was only in Turkey for a couple of days and that was a long time ago. I found the food was terrible. Except the baklava of course. But I can't say I tried everything so maybe I'm wrong.

More recently I was in a shawarma joint in the UK and the Turkish and Syrian brothers who were there were saying the food in UK is better.

I saw some halal frozen rabbit yesterday at Worldwide Foods in Manchester....but I passed on it.
I'm in no hurry to give it a try.
Mind you I bought some HMC certified (beef/lamb?) tongue from there. Need to think of a way to marinate and cook it now to make it tasty.

It also appears to be an healthy alternative.

Ostrich looks and tastes similar to beef but is lower in fat than chicken or turkey.

A red meat very low in fat and high in protein.

I was looking up halal exotic meats as I don't know anything about them. From the HMC website I can see that they are a partially certified HMC supplier. I'm guessing that it's because their 'exotic' meats are not HMC certified as it is not slaughtered at HMC abattoirs but all the other usual poultry and meat is.

Also their eggs are huge. Probably can make an omelette for to 10 people with one egg!

I used to work for worldwide foods. Their strategy (at the time anyway) was pile it high and sell it cheap. I would THOUROUGHLY wash anything I buy from there.
