Ponder upon this; what is special about Newzealand.

NewZealand has put an end to lockdown after health officials revealed there were no known active cases of #COVID19 and declared the country free from coronavirus.

My analysis is "they have borrowed Islamic ethics. We are yet to get convinced that islamic ethics benefit us"

How many would have observed this, be it be cricket or hockey, they always get trophy for decent behavior, fair play, they may not get the cup.

NZ has tiny population with vast amount land.

It's an island.

Not a major tourist spot, financial or manufacturing hub.

Their airports are not used for connecting flights.

Ranked 32nd for GDP PPP.

They had everything in their favour to beat this virus.

The following essay on the “Conspiracy Theory” is perhaps the best ever to appear on the Internet. It clearly delineates the many subtleties and nuances by which the label “Conspiracy Theory” has been used to shut down honest public debate. It also shows how critical thinking on the part of the individual has been discouraged and mocked.

The various entities which colluded to conceive the label — “Conspiracy Theorist” — knew exactly what they were doing alright. They have been successful in effectively terminating the traversing trajectories of truth-seekers everywhere … over many decades. However, every actual conspiracy designed to deprive the people of the truth is always exposed sooner or later. That time is now!

With the pervasiveness of the Internet throughout societies everywhere, the many once isolated ‘conspiracy theorists’ are now able to collaborate with others of like mind as conspiracy realists. In this way they are able to share their theses and theories about everything. Given this refreshing environment and new climate, the official 9/11 Commission Report has been proven to be a complete fabrication foisted by U.S. Federal Government on the American people. So, too, has the JFK assassination been proven to be a classic CIA Execution Plan.

By inference, the research paper below lays bare a simple fact of life: that the Mainstream Media (MSM) is the single biggest disseminator of the many falsehoods regarding the “Conspiracy Theory”. As a matter of historical fact, the MSM has published countless false conspiracy theories with the explicit purpose of misleading the American people. The utterly ridiculous 9/11 narrative fabricated by the US government as well as the absurd official explanation of President Kennedy’s murder are only two of numerous deliberate deceits. In the interest of protecting the system at all costs, anything that departs from the party line is now labeled a ‘conspiracy theory’ by the MSM.

At the end of the day, the MSM will be regarded as the most prolific purveyor of false conspiracy theories of all time (their utterly implausible 9/11 conspiracy theory really takes the cake). Yes, that time is surely upon us as many signs and events point directly to a fast-approaching day of reckoning.

People do DIY research on the Internet and then tell doctors during visits that they should perhaps consider such and such therapy and drugs. People do DIY research on the Internet and then tell the Ulama that they have erred in understanding the Deen. People do DIY research on "conspiracy theories" and become more intolerant of opposing views.

Independent research is not child's play. It requires disciplined training and guidance. This is why a person needs to earn a doctorate and do some post doctoral research before his research is taken seriously in any professional setting.

My advice to anyone interested in research - find a competent professional to guide and instruct how research should be done.

--Anecdote--

A king once went out on a hunting expedition. He was separated from his entourage and lost his way. He chanced upon a hut, and, being thirsty and hungry, knocked on the door. The hut belonged to a barber, who fed the king and allowed him a place to rest until his entourage found him.

On his return to the palace, the king summoned the barber and presented him with a robe and the title of "The Best Barber in the Kingdom."

The barber brought the robe and title home and showed it to his wife. The wife was unimpressed. She said, "I'll believe you're the best barber in the kingdom when at least four other barbers attest to your skill."

--End of anecdote--

Peer review is a very important part of research.

Islam tells us that we can identify a reliable scholar from "peer review," when many other pious and knowledgeable people attest to his knowledge and piety.

A good doctor is someone that other doctors hold in high regard, not the quack who has tens of thousands of followers, and promises miracle cures using placebos.

A good researcher is someone who others in that particular field of research regard as competent.

A good research article will be very sparing in its use of superlatives and hyperbole.

Not everything on the internet needs to be given weight to (including this post, arguably).

This is my view that depending on situation, Akhlaq/muamilaath/muashiraath counts above aqeedah and ibaadaath in darbar of Allah. Newzealand can be placed above other countries in those 3 branches.

India and New Zealand: Two tales of Covid-19 with similar lockdown script

March 25 was an important date for India and New Zealand in their fight against Covid-19 pandemic. Both the countries enforced one of the strictest coronavirus lockdowns in the world. Today, New Zealand has no active case of Covid-19 while India is among the top five countries.

When India and New Zealand announced total lockdowns, health experts and international agencies applauded the move as both appeared to have taken off the block very early.

India had 519 coronavirus cases when Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced nationwide lockdown. New Zealand had 205 when its Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern put the country under lockdown.

Both countries got the first coronavirus patients from China. Both countries repatriated stranded citizens and kept them in institutional quarantine - under military facilities -- in the early weeks of counter-Covid response.

But this is where perhaps the similarities between India and New Zealand's rendezvous with coronavirus ends.

India suspended flight operations from China on January 31, a day after its first case was reported in Kerala. New Zealand banned entry of travellers from China on February 3, 25 days before it recorded its first coronavirus case.

Only citizens and permanent residents of New Zealand were allowed to enter the country from China. Entry for people with a travel history to China was blocked, unless they had spent 14 days in a Covid-free country.

New Zealand sealed its national borders for everyone on March 15. Those entering the country had to stay in home quarantine for 14 days.

India closed its borders for travellers on March 25. It also prescribed home quarantine for travellers, but unlike New Zealand, it was grossly violated here.

When New Zealand enforced total lockdown, it allowed only grocery stores, pharmacies, hospitals and gas stations to open. Vehicular movement was strictly restricted. Social interactions were confined to households.

India too had similar restrictions. But the essential services had a wider ambit in India. Banks continued to function and people continued to visit them regularly.

In fact, some of the largest banks in India made even HR personnel attend office regularly. It may sound bizarre but banks like the SBI did not defer its promotion and transfer-posting processes.

Local vegetable markets were allowed to open where norms of physical distancing were not adhered to properly. The strictest lockdown of New Zealand remained in force for a full month. In India relaxations were announced after three weeks on the back of a pressing migrant crisis.

Contrasting outcomes of rather similar lockdown measures were visible by the time India and New Zealand completed one of month of national lockdown.

New Zealand relaxed its lockdown from level 4 to level 3 on April 27. On April 28, New Zealand had 1,472 cases, India over 31,300. New Zealand managed to keep death count at 19, India had seen nearly 940 deaths due to Covid-19 by then.

Another thing that New Zealand did differently was following the Covid-19 protocol more rigorously. New Zealand achieved one of the highest testing rates per million population in the world.

Having a smaller population as compared to India also helped New Zealand in monitoring its Covid-affected population better.

On June 8, New Zealand discharged its last Covid-19 patient. On that day, India became the fifth worst-affected country with more than 2.67 lakh confirmed cases of Covid-19.

Just replying for the sake of readers. Aqeedah comes first, then akhlaq and ibaadaat.

Aqeedah is of two types. There is aqeedah proven by nusoos, such as Sifat of Bari Taala, risalat, akhirat, qiyamat, qadr, angels, revealed books, khatme nubuwwat. There is no compromise here. Then there is aqeedah derived through ijtehad, such as hayati/mamati and rooiyat Bari Taala and whether the earth of rauza mubarak is superior to Arsh. It is these secondary matters of aqeedah that perhaps brother Saad is referring to.

The secondary aqaid matters define ahlus sunnah wal jama'a. If someone disagrees on these secondary matters, they leave the fold of ahlus sunnah.

If someone disagrees on the primary matters of aqaid, they leave the fold of Islam.

Many people ive spoken to do not believe that Covid-19 exist and the quarantines and lockdowns have been made for some Undercover government activity.

Also some people have been carrying on as normal and not been social distancing and have been visiting and meeting up with friends and family.

They do not know anyone who has been ill with the virus or have died from it. Not sure what to make of everyone’s different perspectives on the present situation.
