Why 500 + a day are dying in the UK and the hospitals are empty. Where are they dying?

It's not lack of beds so is it just lack of of equipment?

Then why refuse the equipment being supplied?

UK is actually on a very nice downward trend. The US is at a plateau of roughly 1,800 per day for nearly the past month. It is expected to hit 3,000 deaths per day here in June due to states opening too early.

I wonder why there is a drop every 5 days. The drop seems to be around the weekend. Any guesses anyone?

During the weekend the numbers don't come through from all the hospitals etc.

Otherwise, I would conspire that there are not enough killings happening in the weekend.

They should be taking that into account and adjusting the numbers to allow for the weekend communication delay.

US has the same thing. Weekend reporting is not as good as weekday reporting. That's the case here, so I can only guess it's the same there.

They don’t calculate all death tolls over the weekend the extra numbers are added to the weekday total. That’s why the numbers fluctuate over the weekend. Otherwise the numbers would be steady rate throughout

What ppl should now be focussing on is the recovery rate which is non existent in uk compared to other countries.

It is a fact that ppl are getting the virus and most are dying from it. Yet no one is questioning why compared to other countries uk’s recovery rate is well below poor in numbers.

Actions speak louder than words and what the UK is doing is just tactical delay.

I know tactical delay is not what many people want to see, yet until there are effective treatments it will remain the best option.
People often look at the death rate that is commonly used.
It's not truly the best statistic. Below is an example of the Actual death rate for cases that have had a closure, from the US, then from Sweden.
