I don't wanna start a new thread as this is related, but

What to do?

I saw a tweet coz it was mentiond elsewhere about Mufti Muhammad ibn Adam and Shaykh Sulaiman Ghani.

Shaykh Ghani responded to Mufti saheb about him leading taraweeh in a London mosque on Sunday when Saudi had announced it. Shaykh Ghani's reply was "Very Disappointed"

I'm assuming 100% that it was because another Mufi has done Eid on the basis of Saudi and thrown all of his education over his shoulder. I'm sure it wasn't because he was leading the salah in a Tooting Masjid (or is it)

Similarly, there are so many scholars who are well versed in the knowledge of moon sighting, so why the heck do they lead people the other way.

Other examples of u.k. scholars who still do or have before, followed Saudi instead of going the right way.

Classical excuse, for the sake of unity - fair to a certain extent, but year in year out?

The other question is why do the wahabeeees do eid when their lot tell them not to. I mean whats their daleel for not accepting the fatwa's from wahabi imams.

Shaykh Suliman Gani goes around the world and does actual MoonSighting and is extremely well versed on the subject, how many Ulama do you know who do this month after month?

Try stopping a random Imam (of a Mosque) and ask “which direction do you turn to when looking for the Moon?”

So approach the famous ones and educate them.

They are the ones who stand on the pulpit. They are the ones the masses use as excuses.

Write to them, hold meetings. Get other reliable and reputable scholars to come to conclusions.

I saw a video with molvi farid patel trying to do something similar in the central London mosque and telling a whole group of Ulama about 18 degrees.

But this wasn't the Hanafi way by mufti menk.

Words has it that there will be an attempt to unite the Eid Salah for the next 5 years on the same day, backed with evidence from the Hadith. In other words, using the Hadith about the incident when Salah was offered on the 2nd of Shawwal.

I think it will not happen because it'll probably mean asking the Saudi followers to do their Salah a day later. Fat chance of that happening!

The next five years does seem to look like there is a chance of 1 Eid (bar 1)

Anyone heard of this?

The reason I'm asking is due to the verses of the Quran and as another specialist put it:

The above statements seems to go directly against the clear statement of the Quran where Allah says:

"They ask you (O Muhammad) about the crescent moons. Say: These are signs to mark fixed periods of time for mankind and for the pilgrimage [Hajj]". (Quran 2:189)

It is clearly understood from the above verse that, not only all lunar months have to be started by sighting of the crescent moon (Quran 9:36), but also the date of Hajj has to be decided by sighting of the crescent moon, too!

An insight would be appreciated.
