Muslims in 100 countries across the globe will be celebrating Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of the holy fasting month of Ramadan, on Monday, according to Anadolu Agency correspondents.

Just kidding, this is from 2014. Always investigate what you read first before passing it on or making judgments on others....obviously this thread is in the light side

I shared the link with others and they were shocked. Shame they don't read properly. They just take ones word for it, naturally

Why would they give Thursday off?

Both, Ummul Qura and Wifaqul Ulama have a predicted date for Wednesday.

For Saudi followers, it would either be Tuesday or Wednesday and for Wifaqul Ulama followers, it is on Wednesday or Thursday and considering that London predominantly follow Regents Park Mosque and Saudi, it's strange that they have it for Thursday.

New moon will be born on Monday, making Thursday very far fetched. (Unless I've got something wrong)

No idea, think the heads of school were confused considering it's populated with Muslim teachers and students. Well the head stated today next year there will be no official holidays for Eid as each child will be absent on day their own of Eid.

Strange week considering if anything some students will be off school either Tues or Wed and now also Thursday as that's the official day of Eid. Staff union strike on Tues, and staff inset day on Friday. Brain boxes of Britain!
