The Fortunate Ones

Allah Ta'ala says, "The first house established for people was that at Bakka, blessed......in it is security." (3:96)

Hadhrat Abu Huraira May Allah be pleased with him said that the Holy Prophet Muhammed Allah's peace and blessings be upon him said, "Mounts should only be saddled to visit three mosques: the Masjid Al-Haram, My Masjid and the Masjid Al-Aqsa." (Bukhari, Muslim)

How fortunate are those who have visited or are going to visit the most sacred places in the entire world! These places are blessed and sacred beyond comprehension. These are places to where the hearts of the pious are attached, and to where they yearn to go year after year. These are places where they desire to be buried in and from where they desired to be raised on the Day of Judgement. They are mentioned in the Hadith above: Masjid Al-Haram, Masjid-e-Nabawi and Masjid Al-Aqsa. For those going for Hajj they will visit and see amazing places. There, their rewards for pious deeds are multiplied greatly, their prayers are accepted and their hearts are purified.

The Holy Prophet Allah's peace and blessings be upon him said, "No one supplicates to Allah at the black corner but that Allah answers it for him. It is the same beneath the water spout."

It is mentioned in another Hadith, "Whoever prays two rakaats behind the Maqam-e-Ibrahim will be forgiven his past and future actions and will be gathered with those who are safe on the day of resting."

Hadhrat Ibn Abbas May Allah be pleased with him said that he heard the messenger of Allah Allah's peace and blessings be upon him said, "No one supplicates for a thing in this Multazam of the Masjid (The wall of the Kaa'ba between the door and the Blackstone) but that his supplication is granted."

Now how fortunate are those people who visit these places and submerge themselves in the blessings and virtues that are there!

About Madina Munawara and Masjid-e-Nabawi the Holy Prophet Allah's peace and blessings be upon him said, "The prayer in my masjid is better than a thousand prayers in all other masjid, except the Masjid Al-Haram."

It is also mentioned, "What is between my house and my member is one of the meadows of the Garden."

Also in Madina Munawara rests the Prophet Allah's peace and blessings be upon him and visiting his grave is a Sunnah and this is excellent and desirable.

Ibn Umar May Allah be pleased with them said that the Holy Prophet Allah's peace and blessings be upon him said, "My intercession is insured for all those who visit me." Hadhrat Anas Ibn Malik May Allah be pleased with him said that the Messenger of Allah Allah's peace and blessings be upon him said, "Anyone who visits me in Madina for the sake of Allah is near me and I will intercede for him on the Day of Rising."

This is the city where revelation would descend, where historical battles took place!

How fortunate are those who are able to visit these places and furthermore how fortunate are those who live there and die there!

The Black Stone - Hajr al-Aswad

In the middle of a deserted valley surrounded by mountains, two men were at work. Slowly slowly, brick by brick, they were building the house of Allah Ta'ala. The friend and Prophet of Allah Ta'ala, Prophet Ibrahim blessings be upon him and his dear son, Prophet Ismail blessings be upon him were building the Ka'bah, continuously supplicating to Allah Ta'ala, until the Ka'bah had been created. It was missing one stone. On seeing this, Hadhrat Ibrahim blessings be upon him instructed Hadhrat Ismail blessings be upon him to go search for a stone, so that he can put into the empty space. Hadhrat Ismail blessings be upon him obeying his father's orders went searching for a stone, during which time Hadhrat Jibrael Alayhis Salam brought the Hajre Aswad to Ibrahim blessings be upon him.

Allah Ta'ala had placed the stone in mount Abu Kays, when the great flood occurred in the time of Hadhrat Nuh blessings be upon him, and ordered Hadhrat Jibrael Alayhis Salam that when you see my friend making my house, take the stone out for him and give it to him.

Hadhrat Ismail blessings be upon him returned, and on seeing this stone he asked "Oh my father, where did you get this from?" Hadhrat Ibrahim blessings be upon him replied, "Hadhrat Jibrael blessings be upon him brought it."

Hadhrat Jibrael blessings be upon him placed the stone in its place, and Hadhrat Ibrahim blessings be upon him applied the finishing touches. The Hajre Aswad was sparkling because of its pure whiteness, and it enlightened the north, south, east and west.

It has been related in a Hadith that Hadhrat Jibrael blessings be upon him brought the Hajre Aswad from Jannah.

In another Hadith, it has been said by Hadhrat Ibn Abbas May Allah be pleased with him, that the Hajre Aswad and Makame Ibrahim are the two pearls from the pearls of Jannah. They came down from the sky with a divine light, and after being placed on the earth their light was extinguished. If Allah Ta'ala had not extinguished their light the two stones would have lit all that which is in between the sky and the earth.

The Hajre Aswad is that stone, from which millions of Muslims begin their tawaaf. When it first came from Paradise, it was brighter than snow and milk. Its length is approximately one foot and is embedded in the corner of the Kabah. Allah Ta'ala has given the stone a special attribute, that if any human kisses, touches or even gives istilam to the stone, it seeks forgiveness of sins for that very human and on the day of Judgement the stone will be given a tongue and will give witness for whoever has visited it on that day.

The stone slowly slowly started loosing its whiteness because of the large quantity of sinners kissing the stone. For this apparent reason part the stone has become black, but the embedded part in the structure of the Ka'bah is still white.

A further attribute of this stone is that the noble Prophet Allah's Peace and blessings be upon him has kissed this stone, so whenever anyone touches or kisses the stone, he is kissing or touching the place where the lips of the Prophet Allah's Peace and blessings be upon him had touched.

The Virtues Of Zam Zam

The Best Water

Ibn 'Abbas May Allah be pleased with him reported that the Messenger of Allah Peace and blessings be upon him said, "The best water on the face of the earth is the water of Zamzam. It contains food to satisfy hunger and a cure for illnesses. The worst water on the face of the earth is the water at Wadi Barhut in Hadramawt, which is like locusts in comparison with other pests. It gushes in the morning and is dry by the evening." (At-Tabarani)

Zamzam is superior, in relation to any other type of water, for numerous reasons. One specific characteristic, apart from many of its other attributes, is that it is food for the hungry and a cure for the sick.

The Making Of Zam Zam

Consider the narrative regarding the discovery of Zamzam. Hazrat Hajira and Hazrat Ismail Peace and blessings be upon him had to settle down in an area barren of water and vegetation. When the last of their food had finished; a mothers love for her distressed son could not be contained and so she undertook dashing from Safa to Marwa in search of sustenance. On her seventh trip, whilst she was on Marwa, she heard the noise of an Angel and saw that a spring had emerged by his heels. This blessed water became food for Hazrat Hajira, which in turn became a source of milk for Hazrat Ismail Peace and blessings be upon him. If one has true faith it's attribute as a source of food still exists today.

The Effects Of Zam Zam

When Hazrat Abu Zar Ghifari May Allah be pleased with him first came to Makkah Mukarramah during the early stages of Islam. He narrates, 'I lived a month in which I had nothing to eat but for Zamzam.' Not only did he pass his time with relative ease but he states, 'I became obese, and due to my enlarged state creases had formed on my stomach. I also did not feel weak in my gut.' (Muslim)

Sheikh Abdur Rashid Ibrahim rahmatullahi alaihe states, 'I spent weeks on Zamzam to satisfy my hunger.'

Sheikh Muhammad Saeed Tantawi spent the last ten days of Ramadhaan in I'takaf within Haram Shareef. For the duration of the ten days he had nothing to eat or drink except for Zamzam.

An ustaadh of Makkah Mukarramah, Jaamiah Ummul Qura`, was afflicted with an illness in which he could neither open his mouth to talk or to eat. During his illness he survived only upon Zamzam and he states that for seventeen days not only did he not feel hungry or thirsty but he also recovered.

Allama Ibnul Qayyum Jawzi rahmatullahi alaihe has written in 'Zaadul Ma`ad' that I have seen such a person who has lived only on Zamzam as his source of food for half a month or more but he did not feel hungry and he continued to perform tawaaf as normal.

He also states that the person informed him, 'On some occasions I have lived on Zamzam for approximately forty days with no change to my physical strength. I would fast, perform tawaaf and fulfil the duties to my wife.

Hazrat Abdullah ibn Abbas May Allah be pleased with him states that Zamzam was a great help for him in raising a family. He states that they termed it as 'Shubba'ah' (filler of the stomach).

One of the attributes of Zamzam is of its ability to be used as a cure. The Prophet Peace and blessings be upon him himself is reported to have carried Zamzam in pitchers and water skins back to Madinah. He used to sprinkle it over the sick and make them drink it. (Baihaqi)

Wahab ibn Munabbah Tabe`e rahmatullahi alaihe states, 'I swear by Him in whose possession my life is, Allah Ta`ala will relieve the person of all illnesses who drinks Zamzam to his fill and will also grant him good health.

It is also believed that Zamzam is very beneficial for the stomach.

The water of Zamzam has also been medically and chemically proven to contain elements that are beneficial for the stomach, liver, intestines and kidneys.

The statement of certain doctors and philosophers that Zamzam, due to the fact that the well is sealed and therefore devoid of air and sunlight, is bad for ones health has been made out of ignorance. They have failed to take into consideration that Zamzam is unlike other wells in that it is a flowing spring that runs from Hajar-e-Aswad. Their statements are merely made to undermine the excellence of Zamzam.

The Worst Type Of Water

The second portion of the Hadith mentions that the worst type of water, which exists on the face of the earth, is situated at the valley of Barhut in Hadramawt. Hadramawt is towards the south of Arabia, between Yemen, Uman and the Arab Sea. It is in this area that there is a valley called Barhut, and it is here that there is a deep well also of the same name. Traces of this well can still be found today.

It has been discovered from certain narrations that Hazrat Salih Peace and blessings be upon him had settled here with four thousand of his followers. After his death the people became entangled in kufr and shirk. Another Prophet was sent to them, but they subsequently killed him. It was a result of this that divine punishment came down upon them and they all perished. It is the effect of this punishment that exists on the well.

The example of a swarm of locusts has been given for the reason that when they approach, they advance instantly in swarms and on departure seem to disappear just as quickly. In the same manner, the inconvenience with a sudden shower of rain is that it becomes difficult for the people to collect and drink from it. Furthermore when it comes to a halt not only does it not leave much if anything behind, but eventually dries that up too.

May Allah with his infinite mercy grant us all the blessings that the water of Zamzam contain. Ameen.

I am currently in Najistan, I mean Pakistan. I have witnessed the most bizzare Biddat ever. These people are far far from Islam and are adopting the way of the Christians and Shias. Party all nite, Naat, Nasheeds on loud speakers by men and women, 247, yet the mosques are empty.

The people were celebrating Eid Milaadun Nabi like Christmas, No worse then that. Its a sad state here.

Where are our Ullama. Surely they havent all gone for Jihad!

My Post on the fake tomb, above, took a major hammering with comments. If only these Pakistanis (where I am, currently on Holiday) could see this.
