After giving his pocket ruling, he says, "The idea is to obey God the way he likes" - So what about when Allah says:
وَكُلُواْ وَٱشۡرَبُواْ حَتَّىٰ يَتَبَيَّنَ لَكُمُ ٱلۡخَيۡطُ ٱلۡأَبۡيَضُ مِنَ ٱلۡخَيۡطِ ٱلۡأَسۡوَدِ مِنَ ٱلۡفَجۡرِۖ ثُمَّ أَتِمُّواْ ٱلصِّيَامَ إِلَى ٱلَّيۡلِۚ
"and eat and drink until the white thread of the dawn becomes distinct from the black thread; then complete the fast up to the night"
I don't see any exceptions for long days. He's no astronomer, he's an astraynomer. I hope no one goes astray with these scientists pretending to be scholars of Deen.
