A very important lesson to be remembered by us all and something I guess the Ulama practice till today in fear of what I mentioned above.

Abdullah Ibn Masood May Allah's blessings be upon him would refrain from narrating Hadith in fear of mistakes. However when he did narrate a Hadith, he was very particular and precocious in what he attributed to the Prophet May Allah send peace and blessings upon him . He would turn pale and quake in fear whenever he accidentally attributed something to the Prophet May Allah send peace and blessings upon him , even though the Prophet May Allah send peace and blessings upon him has said, 'Whatever Ibn Masood May Allah's blessings be upon him narrates to you, believe him.' Whenever he gave a verdict, he would attribute it to himself, saying that it was his own opinion and that it was from Allah if it was correct and that it was from himself and Satan, if it was incorrect. For this reason, many Fatwas have been attributed to Abdullah May Allah's blessings be upon him instead of the Prophet May Allah send peace and blessings upon him

I do understand the Guests point, but I have also heard people say that they quote the Ulama of today to show the layman that these things can still be done in this day and age.

Brother,

This poster has no point. It’s a game being played by someone with an Agenda and we both know it...

Unfortunately we have brothers (and sisters) who crave attention or have some mental health issues which makes them go from forum to forum and raise the exact same issues and stir up trouble.

  1. There is no doubt that there are issues with Tassawuff.
  2. There is no doubt that there are issues with Darul-ulooms.
  3. There is no doubt that there are issues with Tableeghi Jamaat.

But we don’t need attention craving folks to jump up and down and go from forum to forum discussing these matters without raising any specifics but merely ranting.

This brother (or sister) is merely ranting, he (or she) hasn’t constructed an argument, hasn’t raised any well constructed arguments, hasn’t defined a problem and hasn’t offered a solution. Shaykh (Maulana) Esa Mansuri (HA)’s article is just an afterthought (a bolt-on) when he (or she) is cornered and doesn’t know to turn left or right .

People have read a problem in this thread without the poster actually saying anything specific (just ranting) and it’s important for people to see that reading from beginning to end.

This is the ugly side of Internet and anonymity i.e. anyone can merely rant resulting in a 3 page fruitless exchange and time wasting.  This is precisely what happens on a daily basis on SF i.e. one person trolls and comes up with a half-baked ridiculous (rant) and others jump in and try to answer a rant with equally incoherent responses and then you have pages upon pages of nonsense until the thread is closed.

Constructive discussions and exchanges are of course welcome but attention craving individuals should be sent to their mother with one of these...

You can have a constructive forum where fruitful exchanges occur OR you can have 5 pages of non-nense!

Strange, the guest made the TJ talks look positive and free of this (mention of shaykhs), unless there is more than one guest posting (since there are 3 different IP addresses being logged when they post). I'm still assuming that he/she is a TJ. Yes I know that sounds hard to believe, but no one but a TJ or X-TJ would say anything positive about TJ's

Anyways, any posts made by any guest will not be authorized until we are back. Unfortunately, the posts will have to wait until one of us returns.

Asslamo Allaikum,

Shaykh Mohammad Daniels (HA) of Cordoba Academy has been close to the Ulamah & Mashaykh of Tableegh (Nizamuddin Markaz) for almost 20 years and this is what he sent yesterday in Arabic which best describes Tableeghi Jamaat & its methodolody.

Good topic. Personally I prefer the methodology of starting from quraan and then hadeeth, then fiqh, then earlier scholars, then later scholars. At the same time people sometimes can refer to their contemporaries more and also people can value their contemporaries. With regards to shaykh 'worship' or obsession then the quraan commands in surah fatiha. Virtually all the mashaikh/ulema had reverence for their teachers and obsession. Imam abu hanifa rh would not even stretch his legs towards his teacher's house? People have to realize that most islaahi majlises are like informal chat and this has been the methodology of some mashaikh as many mashaikh were not scholars of the zahir sense and thus could not quote quraan and hadeeth from memory. Their 'informal chat' islaahi majlis was therefore an explanation or elaboration of some parts of quraan and hadeeth without being that ilmi. Actually many times these people their silence was better than other's speech. Please note I use some people not all as in general the mashaikh of deoband were scholars of both the inner and outer but before them many of the chisti mashaikh were non-scholars. But this brings us to the issue of Quraan and hadeeth. Laymen are not required to know the evidences. So the ulema are needed to dvelve into quraan and hadeeth. How does a person know if a shaykh is going against quraan and hadeeth etc? These are once again complex discussions.
