And which shaykh told you that?
You people make it sound like you don't follow any shaykhs, that is a blatant lie. Fear Allah.

The Shaykhs are inheritors of the Prophets, agree or disagree

Yes they are, but don't forget the source, otherwise unknowingly you can end up going down the route where precedence is given to the Shaykh's words over the direct words of Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam. Are you saying this does not already happen? Six times in 30 min today mention was made of respected shaykh in a bayan. That was more times than the direct words of Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam

Dear guest, I agree many times too much precedence is given to a shaykh, through no fault of the shaykhs fault or his teachings.

However the posts on this thread simply provide facts and praiseworthy advice on ramadhan, if there is any deficiency on the advice given then please feel free to correct, and if you would like to provide Quran and hadith to enhance or support any of the advice on the thread please again feel free to contribute.

Your missing the point. Nobody said never quote a Shaykh. What I am saying is that the subject matter of talks nowadays seems to be our respected Hazrat said this. Alhumdulillah, generally speaking TJ talks are free from this, although in some places it's creeping in. Hero worship is what we castigate Barelvis for

That's strange, I've always always always heard them quote "Our elders" only on few occasions they would quote Qur'an and Hadith with reference. And do you know why? So they don't incorrectly attribute something to our beloved Prophet (pbuh). I guess they are being safe than sorry.

Also please open a new thread or stick to the topic. (Although the title does give you the space for debate, its more to do with Ramadhan)

So do TJ talks never include advices from the pious predecessors?

As for hero worship, only a persons intentions can determine that, and as we know nobody knows anyone's intentions save Allah swt. A shaykhs position is to draw a person close to the Creator, he is just a means and not the goal and objective.

Taalibah - Where did I say TJ talks NEVER make reference to Shaykhs. If you are going to engage in a debate, may I suggest you read properly what I wrote.
