Maulana,

Please look at this suggeston by Brother Naqshband66 and my testing it in action.

Is it a bug or am I using it wrong? Is this due to quick note?

Salam,
Nothing is wrong from your side, its because of "quick quote reply".

Brother Black Turban has explained it clearly as what actually happens.

["When you click on "[quick quote reply]", this type of element appears (without space):

[ QUOTE : xxxxxx : username ]

Now you write something, select text and click on the Quote button, a HTML element appears like this (without space):

[ quote ][ / quote ]

this "[/quote*]" commands to insert every text written before it into the quotation.

As you see the first element ([ QUOTE : xxxxxx : username ]) has no ending "[/quote*]" part, therefore it considers the second quotation's "[/quote*]" as its ending part. As a result it inserts every text written after "[ QUOTE : xxxxxx : username ]" and before "[/quote*]" into a single quotation."]

You can try quoting without quick quote, InshaaAllah it'll work fine.

And also you can use multiple quotes in a single post without any bug or glitch.

I have edited your post, you can check the difference by editing the post.

It broke again because you did "[quick quote reply]".

PS. As another reminder, the "view original post" button that opens the first quick quoted quote and not the one you clicked is already fixed in the new version.
