Course Description:

عن عائشة رضي الله عنها قالت: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: خيركم خيركم لأهله، وأنا خيركم لأهلي،رواه الترمذي وابن ماجه

“The best of you are those who are best to their families, and I am the best of you to my family.” (Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah)

A family unit is the most basic but essential organisation of any society and therefore has direct implications to the wider community. Islam in its comprehensiveness has set deep principles for many aspects of our lives, particularly in the institution of one’s family. With each marriage paving a way to the introduction of a new family, Islam sets great standards in nurturing each member through this integral unit, with the aim of attaining the ultimate success of this world.

Today as always, there is a great need to understand and appreciate these standards by studying the noble example of our beloved Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and to adapt into our lives what he brought so that we can reap its blessings and benefits. This course offers a comprehensive overview on the Islamic philosophy of family life as defined by the Qur’an and Hadith.
