**MARRIED LIFE**


COURSE DESCRIPTION.


In the name of Allah the Most Merciful the Ever Merciful

“And from amongst His signs is this: He created for you, from yourselves, partners so that you may find tranquillity in them and He has placed between you love and mercy. Most certainly, therein are signs for people who reflect.”(Surah Ar-Rum; Verse 21)



The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam lead a married life which serves as an ideal for all who want a peaceful, enjoyable married life. Today, as always, there is a great need to understand and appreciate the noble example of the beloved Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and to adapt into our lives what he brought so that we can reap its blessings and benefits.

AIM.

This course aims to provide a deeper understanding of marriage, by analysing the various factors of matrimony in Islam, in order to give practical advices to be followed which can pave the way for a strong and intimate bond as implied in the Qur’an:

“They are a covering for you and you are a covering for them..”(Surah Baqarah; Verse 187)

WHO IS IT FOR?

Anyone seeking to marry.
Those already married and seeking to fulfil their marriage to a high level of excellence in Islam.



LEARNING OUTCOMES.

To understand and take on board the following:

  • The significance of marrying in Islam.
  • The method of selecting a partner.
  • The manner and etiquette of when and how one should marry. (Including issues pertaining to cultural traditions, dowry, and the ceremony itself.)
  • Islamic guidance and attitude relating to intimacy.
  • General social advice for the husband and wife.
  • The importance of family ties in Islam.
  • The implications of divorce.
  • Nurturing children in Islam.


COURSE INSTRUCTORS.

Shaykh Irfan Sidyot

Shaykh Irfan Sidyot was raised in England and studied at Dar ul Uloom Al Arabiyya Al Islaamiyya, Bury. After memorising the Qur’an, Shaykh Irfan continued his education, earning formal authorisation in various Islamic Sciences. This was followed by a PGCE degree from Goldsmiths University London, whereby Shaykh Irfan graduated as a qualified teacher.


Under the leadership of his father Shaykh Ismaa'eel Sidyot (may Allah preserve him) and the founders of Lantern of Knowledge Educational Trust, LOK (may Allah preserve them), Shaykh Irfan has been involved centrally with LOK, and has lead a team of dedicated staff in the running of LOK Secondary School and Jamia Siraj ul Uloom for almost 10 years. Jamia Siraj ul Uloom has produced a number of graduates including huffaz, qurraa and ulama.



Shaykh Irfan is a senior teacher of the Aalim course, in which he teaches a range of books including Jami’ al Tirmidhi, Mishkaat ul Masaabeeh and Aqidah al Tahawiyyah. The Shaykh has also authored books in English and Arabic.



Shaykh Habeel Patel

Shaykh Habeel Patel was born and raised in England and has benefited from his studies in various Islamic universities in the UK and abroad, including Dar ul Uloom Zakariyya (South Africa), Dar ul Uloom London and Dar ul Uloom Al Arabiyya Al Islaamiyya, Bury.


Since graduation, Shaykh Habeel has been serving at Lantern of Knowledge Educational Institute (LOK) for over 5 years. Shaykh Habeel is currently a senior KS3 teacher at LOK Secondary School and continues to contribute to the schools success, having recently achieved 2nd place in the local league rankings.


In addition to this, Shaykh Habeel Patel has been appointed as Director of Academics at Jamia Siraj ul Uloom where he is also a senior lecturer of Hadith. The Shaykh teaches students on the Aalimiyyah programme including well known books such as Sahih Muslim, Mishkaat ul Masaabih, Sharh Ma'ani al Athaar, Mukhtasar al Quduri, Noor ul Iydaah and many others.

  • The importance of family ties in Islam (Inlaws are to be respected., Virtues from Qur’an and sunnah, Practical advice)
  • The implications of divorce (Commitment is necessary, Divorce in Qur’an and Sunnah, Fiqhi perspective on divorce, Implications of divorce, Strategies to minimise risk of divorce)
  • Nurturing Children in Islam (Rights of children, Dua, The new born, Qualities of good parenting)
