Fiqh of Divorce Class - Sat 25th June, 10:30 to 4pm

In day and age where the very act of getting married is becoming increasingly cumbersome and frustrating for many resulting in unhappy and loveless couples it is essential to understand the Islamic guidance pertinent to such an important aspect of life considered half the deen. The aim of the class is to provide a better understanding of the juridical (fiqhi) rulings pertaining to marriage, divorce and related issues.

The class will cover the following:

� Rules of divorce
� Misconceptions of divorce
� The three types of divorce (talaq)
� Revoking a divorce (raj'a)
� The sunnah method of divorce, Khulaʿ
� The waiting period (idda)
� Custody of children (hidana)

Each class will be followed by an opportunity to ask questions relating to the topics covered. This course is a must if you are thinking of getting married, have recently married, or would like to become better equipped to avoid the hazards that could lead to a troubled marriage.

Reminder this fiqh of divorce class is next Sat 25th June.

On Sat 25th June Mufti Abdur Rahman is holding a class on the FIqh of Divorce. Sadly divorce is becoming a reality that many couples are now going through leaving themselves, their children and families in complete disarray. Most of the time it seems the problems arise due to a lack of understanding the correct masa'il of divorce. The masa'il of divorce can be quite complex to understand and giving advice to modern day young couples going through a troubled marriage can be even more difficult without the correct knowledge of the fiqhi rulings.

Alhumdolillah couples do now approach their local ulama and imams for guidance on such delicate private issues so its highly important that ulama and imams (especially, but not limited to, those recently graduated) are fully aware of the masa'il of divorce and are confident in using that knowledge when advising couples facing such difficulties. Mufti sab highly recommends ulama (male and female) and imams to attend this course.
