MUFTI AMJAD MOHAMMED (BSc (Hons) | MPhil | FHEA | PGCE | PGCHEP | PGDipRes | NPQH |) has presented a series of lectures on the Fiqh of Minorities with in-depth analysis and research form the Hanafi Madhab

On Saturday, the 29th of April 2017 he comes to Masjid-E-Umer, Walthamstow to present his analysis and provide guidance to British Muslims on how to live their lives without comprising their belief system.

Islamic cleric offers British Muslims advice on how to integrate into Western society

AN ISLAMIC cleric will give a lecture advising Muslims on how to live by their beliefs while actively contributing to Western society.

Shaikh Mufti Amjad Muhammad will hold the event titled ‘How do I live as a British Muslim?’ at Masjid e Umer in Queens Road in Walthamstow.

Ebrahim Vawda, one of the trustees of the mosque, organised the event.

He said: “What we really want to do is show that Islam is compatible with the British way of life.

“Everybody believes in the same things like peace and living together harmoniously whatever culture you are from and these are British values.

“It seems there’s a misconception that being Muslim means you don’t have these values.

“We chose Shaikh Muhammad because he is qualified to speak about this.”

The event is free and will take place on Saturday April 29 at 6.30pm.

Men and women who are both Muslim and non-Muslim are welcome. Women are asked to use the entrance on Chelmsford Road.

A spokesman for the mosque said: “The session will focus on what is currently the question played on the lips and minds of many Muslims and equally the non-Muslims across the country and Europe - how does a Muslim continue to accept and live by his religious acts and belief system whilst being a constructive citizen within a western, liberal and democratic society?”
