What is this? Ghibat? Shaykh Habib al jafri has explained it beautifully. No need to start his ghibat. If you are still in doubt then ask muadh khan he will explain it from hadith like he explained mtj's actions. Tablighis make dua for rulers of pakistan in raiwind ijtima?

Habib Ali's political views seem to be extremely problematic. When asked about Bush his face beams and argues for dawah...when asked about Usama bin laden his face changes expression to one of anger. Meets the various tawagheet of the world including most recently the war criminal ramazan kadyrov but you hardly hear anything except defence for the tawagheet.

muadh khan will not justify habib ali's actions. I am sure of this. It is a very strange explanation considering that Sissi has been massacaring a lot of Muslims. Why was not the same duas showered upon Hafiz Morsi????

Habib ali's critique of child marriages. Which of the 4 imams ever had the position he is advocating. Our dear friend umar from Italy replied to habib ali's quest for a minimum age. We bark at salafis all day and night long but where does habib ali get the evidence for what he advocates below;

The Crime of Child Marriages

When the so-called "upholders" of Sharia defend such crimes and reject those who reject these crimes then they are the furthest people from the reality of Sharia.

When media outlets that are hostile to Islam circulate these stories, when the faith of our youth is shaken by such stories and because of those who try to defend such crimes and when non-Muslims flee from Islam because of these crimes...we find the so-called supporters of Sharia attack the youth and accuse them of being anti-Sharia.

As for those who try to defend such crimes under the pretext that similar issues occurred in the Prophetic era: they are ignorant of the Sharia's legal maxims and fail to acknowledge the legal rules which govern particularised cases, such as: "Preference is given to the prevention of harm over the securing of benefit" and "No inflicting nor reciprocating of harm."

In their defense of child marriage they, the 'upholders' of Sharia, are grossly ignorant that it is forbidden to marry off a young girl whose body or soul cannot tolerate the demands of marriage. These people are not qualified in any sense of the word to talk about the rulings of the Sharia.

Allah is absolved of this crime and those who defend its perpetrators and all who ascribe it to the noble Sharia.

What age will habib ali seek to legislate??? 14, 16,18,20,22????

Dr Mu'taz: I want to ask regarding a fatwa (religious edict) that was issued by a scholar in which he rejected the idea that there be a minimum legal age for marriage.

Habib Ali: First, I want to state that someone invested with the authority to create law in a land, and that may be the ruler or a legislature or legislative assembly or of the like, is given the right by sacred law (sharia) to make laws that permit (and prohibit) something which the sharia has not made obligatory nor prohibitory as long as it is verified that doing so will serve the best interests of the citizenry.

For example, sharia does not state that it is forbidden to disregard traffic lights. In fact, the sharia considers the act of travelling as merely 'allowed' (mubah). However, a head of state has the right to issue a law that makes it an offence to disregard the instructions of traffic lights because there is a benefit in doing that. Likewise, there may be some people who think that it is 'mubah' for a female to be married off at a young age even if it the law of the land stipulates a minimum age. Why do they accept the head of state to pass a law which forbids disregard of traffic lights but reject him from passing a law on a minimum marriageable age?

We have crises on our hands with what is happening to our young daughters. Young girls are being enslaved. Young girls are being sold as though they are objects. In Yemen a man who was over 80 years old married a girl who was 8 years old. She died on the first night. Examples like these are replete.

This is why I have called upon all Muslim countries to make laws which determine a minimum marriageable age for females. This is no longer an secondary issue. In the sharia we have a principle known as "Blocking of the Means to Harm" (Sadd al-Dhara'i) which has been used by certain jurists and scholars to prohibit an exaggerated number of things. This principle was used to prohibit women from driving and used to prohibit many other things - except the marriage of young girls. Do they not see that this is a harm that must be blocked as well? People in states of extreme poverty are selling their daughters to relieve their conditions but what we hear from some representatives of the religious discourse is that the reasons for their poverty must be addressed and rectified first! Yes, it must, but the issue of young girls being married off is a reality occurring before our very eyes and it must be treated.

Habib ali advocating mother's day;

Mother's Day: the issue of accepting it or rejecting it is open to legal interpretation (ijtihad). Whatever one chooses they can not be condemned for it. The concept of celebrating Mother's Day is a good worldly custom. It is not to be considered a religious occasion though it is linked to filial piety which God loves.

I am amazed by people who commemorate the fall of Andalus, Salahuddin's entry into Egypt and "Shaykh Muhammad ibn Abdul-Wahab Week" in the Al-Imam University in Riyadh, then attack and condemn a person who wishes to make his/her mother happy through a good word or meaningful gift or a kiss on her forehead and hand!

(Note: Mother's Day falls on 21 March in the Arab World)

I do hope that someone dedicates an entire thread to the defence of Habib Ali Jifree full of quotation of Hadeeth, Quraan, actions of pious predecessors, etc. just like how we had an entire thread in defence of Moulana Tareeq Jameel. If there is no defence, then I am sorry but there is a lot of double standards and best would be for MS administrators to delete this thread as well as thread in defence of Moulana Tareeq Jameel, also all other threads like that against Sheikh Ebrahim Mogra and Moulana AS Desai (Majlis).

Day:  Shaykh (Maulana) Tariq Jameel (HA) visited a Shia centre to cut down on sectarian violence and gave a talk on Sunnah.

Night: These guys are congratulating Non-Muslims with "Merry Christmas", praising Tyrants etc.

How are these actions the same?

Note: I did not say I agree with him. I was just asking for balance. If you are going to attack someones views then first go and find out (like it was done for Moulana Tareeq Jameel) and get the answers, clarifications, etc. He might have a perfectly valid understanding in his mind for doing what he does as we saw with the issue of Moulana Tareeq Jameel.

So bottom line is let us be balanced and not have double standards. I do not agree with Habib Ali on many issues, neither do I agree with Moulana Tareeq on many issues, but I am not going to defend or attack either and will respect both as scholars who have Islaamic knowledge.

Quote: Meets the various tawagheet of the world..

1. Mtj meets tawagheet and presents shields to non muslim spanish authorities.

Quote Day: Shaykh (Maulana) Tariq Jameel (HA) visited a Shia centre to cut down on sectarian violence and gave a talk on Sunnah.

Night: These guys are congratulating Non-Muslims with "Merry Christmas", praising Tyrants etc.

How are these actions the same?

2. facts: maulana yusuf motala sends christmas cards to chistians on christmas.

Mtj praises maududi and calls dr tuq shaikh ul islam.

Deo mufti sadruddin praises cameron and boris.

Fine this is correct cause of double standards. Common muadh khan we need a defence for shaykh habib al jafri.

To the op either relay your concerns to shaykh habib jafri or just leave it.no use dont make this ghibat forums.

If there is anything defensive, please post it. No need to go round in circles and targeting individuals. Many here have never heard of the person in the OP, but thousands, if not, millions have heard of MTJ and others.

In fact take a look at the new thread HUMZ & LUMZ
