Salam

Never heard of this till today, ran a few searches and it comes up as a Shia narration which has no basis in our books as no source from our books is mentioned at all. The Rafidhi's are having a conversation here about it :

[Authoriser edit: Link removed]

I've read al bidayah wan nihayah and in that as well Imam ibn Katheer rahimullah makes no mention of this, in fact I hear the authentic ahadith surrounding Imam Mehdi are very few. However I guess you will have to confirm with a mufti/alim, do let us know if you do.

The rest Allah knows best

Wasalam

Interesting article you've posted akhii but a little bit confusing at the same time too. Some further elaboration would have been nice.

By the way 'ahlul bidah' does this refer to the brelvis or is it all people of innovation ?

It does appear logical that the some of the Ulamah will oppose Mahdi (AS) because their position and prestige will be at stake. Accepting Mahdi (AS) would mean submitting to him (AS) and if you are used to the whole world falling at your feet how will you submit?

Jews of Madina had the same issue, they could not bear to lose their authority and clout so as a result they denied Nabi (Sallallaho Alaihe Wassallam).

There are many amongst the Ulamah who are writing this scenario where some of the Ulamah will oppose Mahdi (AS) so their followers will obviously also turn away.

Another scenario is that each group will be looking for "their signs" in Mahdi, Salafees will try to judge him as a Salafee, Tableeghee would like to see him regular in Jamaat work, Sufees will try to see him Bay't to a Shaykh and regular in his Adhkaar so many will simply turn away if he isn't conformant to their group because Haqq (to them) is in their group.

Will Mahdi (AS) wear a Topi, a Turban or neither? Which Madhab will he follow? Where will he place his hands? Will he do Masah on socks? Thin, Thick or leather socks?

Don't our brothers and sisters judge people on these matters?

Tablighi's would like to see him regular in Jamaat work ? Lol that's hilarious. Akhii I have heard that many senior TJ ulema go hajj every year and they look for Imam Mehdi as that is where he will come.

Allah knows best

However I do remember reading a thread on SF by a brother claiming that he will be a Naqashbandi.

The Mahdi doesn't need to be conformant to any group or any effort out there, but the people do to him as he will be the Khalifa of Allah - hadith says to the nearest meaning go to him even if if it means that you have to crawl on ice.

Allahu Alam, even I've heard from many mashaikh that he will be a Naqshbandi,

But this ("Still believe time is far") is something indigestible.

Shaykh Mujaddid Alf Thani (RA) has written that he will be Naqshbandi-Mujaddidi and that is Hazrat (RA)'s Kashaf. It is possible because Naqshbandi-Mujaddidi form of Dhik'r makes sense if he will be discovered in Saudia (considering today's Government).

OR it is Hazrat (RA)'s Kashf so Allah (SWT) knows best.

In the past few hundred years many Mujaddids and Jihad associated Muslims have been associated with this Tareeqa.

Personally (to me) this Tareeqa is the closest to Sunnah.

Interesting discussion. Well bhai the reason Mehdi seems far is that the situation in the Muslim world has considerably improved in the last 60 years. It may sound like a very shocking statement to some but this is the truth. With regards to hazrat Mahdi being naqshbandi well we should not put our aqeedah on this as some have done and even gone to the extent of saying he will be hanafi. Let us see what happens but I have a feeling we shall be in our grave before that time.

This is a vast topic. Not only Tablighees , Most of the pious people in our times are searching, I believe. After the death of a Ruler there will be some dispute between the people. At that

...... a citizen of Madina will flee (from Madina) and go to Makkah. While in Makkah, certain people will approach him between Hajrul Aswad and Maqaame Ibraheem, and forcefully pledge their allegiance to him...

Location is mentioned & Who are the certain people? Masha Allah, interesting...

Hanafi?
I think its the opposite way. Hanafis will have some bitter feeling with respect to their madhab during Mahdi AS time, I will search for the source.
I heard it in a Maliki scholar majlis..

well according to some he will be a mujtahid as per hazrat ibnul arabi rh if I'm not mistaken. As per some naqshbandis he will be hanafi. ALLAH knows best. These things are mostly based on kashf etc which is prone to error.

Yes that doesnt matter.

The fact that Naqshbandi traces to Hadrat AbuBakr Siddique RA, who was best men among non prophets is another astonishing coincidence.
