InshaAllah, we shall attempt to add different medicines on this thread according to Islamic rules and evidences.

Please provide as much evidence as possible.

Jazakallahu Khair.

REMEMBER:

It is important to understand that the HEALING is from ALLAH and not the ingredient. Allah makes us use these items as a means of healing.

Allah's word is True. If the our bodies are not accepting the healing, then it is our bodies that have lied.

Olive oil is best for skin diseases

Dr. Rizwan Ahmed

OLIVE is a small ovoid fruit. It is an important food and source of oil. Its evergreen tree is cultivated in the Mediterranean region since time immemorial and now is grown in several places. It has edible shiny black fruits.
An olive tree goes up to the height of three meters, its leaves are bright green and very attractive and the fruits are of bright bluish or violet color possessing a metallic taste.
According to the scholars of Hadith, when the Deluge in the time of Prophet Noah (peace be upon him) subsided and the water level came down, the first thing on the earth that was seen was an olive plant.

Qur'an:
Zaitoon (olive) is the sign of peace and friendship in this world and has its description in the Holy Qur'an.
The Qur'an stresses the importance of Zaitoon in several verses like 6:99 and 141, 16:11 and 24:35.

Ahadith:
Sayyed Al-Ansari narrates that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Eat the olive oil and massage it over your bodies since it is a holy (mubarak) tree." (Tirmizi, Ibn Maja)

Alqama Bin Amir narrates that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: "There is olive oil for you, eat it, massage it over your body, since it is effective in Haemorrhoids (Piles)." (Ibn Al-Jawzi, Zanbi)

Uqba Bin Amir narrates that the Prophet (pbuh) stated: "You have the olive oil from this holy (mubarak) tree, treat yourself with this, since it cures the anal fissure (basoor)."

Khalid Bin Saad narrates: "I came to Madina with Ghalib Bin Al Jabr. Ghalib became ill during the journey. Ibn Abi Ateeq came to see him and told a narration from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (pbuh) told about the cure in the black seed. We crushed a few black seeds and mixed it with olive oil and dropped in both nostrils, after which Ghalib became healthy." (Ibn Maja, Bukhari)

Abu Hurairah narrates that the Prophet (pbuh) stated: "Consume the olive oil and apply it (locally), since there is cure for 70 diseases in it, one of them is leprosy." (Abu Naim)

Zaid Bin Arqam narrates: "We have been directed by the Prophet (pbuh) that we should treat Pleurisy with Qust Bahri (Qust Sheerin) and olive oil." (Tirmizi, Sanad Ahmed, Ibn Maja)

Before medication:
For the treatment of every disease, one must perform Nafl (supererogatory) Salah and make supplication beseeching Allah for curing the disease asking Him to put cure in the prescribed medicines. Then give alms (sadaqa) to the poor and then take medications.

Olive contains palmatic acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid, steanic acid, myristic acid and glycerides.
Olive (Zaitoon) is cure for 70 diseases. Among them, olive oil is most commonly used in the treatment of skin diseases.
The skin is the largest organ of our body. It is, in terms of both weight, between six and nine pounds, and surface area of about two square yards. The skin separates the inside of our body from the outside world. It protects us from bacteria and viruses that can cause infections. It helps us sense the outside world such as whether it is hot or cold, wet or dry. It also regulates our body temperature.

Conditions that irritate, clog or inflame our skin can cause symptoms such as redness, swelling, burning and itching. Allergies, irritants, our genetic makeup and certain diseases and immune system problems can cause psoriasis, alopecia and other skin conditions. Many skin problems, such as acne, also affect our look.

The acne is a skin condition, usually of the face, that is common in adolescents. It is characterized by red pimples, and is caused by the inflammation of sebaceous glands through bacterial infection; a pattern of blemishes in an area of skin resulting from the skin condition. There are four types of acne - blackheads, whiteheads, pimples and cysts - which develop when pores in our skin become clogged. The culprit is sebum (see-bum), an oil in our skin. Our bodies make more sebum when our hormones surge.

This is why teens get acne. Females also have them before their periods. Since hormones fluctuate in the years leading up to menopause, many women in their 40s and 50s get acne.

There are many treatments available for acne. Among them a few are:
Rinse face in plain warm water. Dab face with a clean linen cloth until it matts the oily look.
Massage a small amount of extra virgin olive oil into skin until all the oil has soaked in. After half-an-hour, sebum slowly pulls out of the pores on nose and cheeks. After just one hour, the skin glows very nicely, without being oily. It seems that normal extra virgin olive oil works very nicely.

Fast facts:

* Instead of heating the olive oil, one can also apply olive oil kept in room temperature to the scalp, wrap hair in plastic to hold in heat, and sit under or use a hair dryer to speed the process.

* Because olive oil is an emollient, it will leave all the skin on the scalp moisturized, creating a healthier scalp.

* Olive oil is very beneficial in the treatment of dry, flaky and broken skin. It helps to moisturize the skin. Use it if you want to get the glow on dry skin.

Here are some tips on how to make an olive oil face pack for dry skin:

* Make a mixture by mixing few drops of olive oil with two mashed avocados. Use this remedy thrice a week.

* Another good face pack for dry skin is a mixture of one egg yolk, one tablespoon of flour and half a tablespoon of olive oil. Apply it on your skin and leave it on for about 20 to 25 minutes. Wash off with lukewarm water.

* If your skin is oily then you can use olive oil to cleanse and moisturize the skin. Olive is very beneficial in the prevention and treatment of several oily skin-related problems like open pores, blemishes, blackheads, cysts and acne.

* Make an oily skin face mask by mixing oatmeal - one cup, olive oil - tablespoon, sea salt - tablespoon and sour milk - cup

* Apply it on the skin and leave it on for about 15 to 20 minutes. It is a good recipe for cleaning the pores.

Here are some tips on how to use olive oil to get glowing face naturally.

* Mix half cup each of curd and cucumber juice. Now, add tablespoon of olive oil into the mixture. Apply it on your face and wait for about 15 minutes before rinsing it off with lukewarm water. Use this remedy once a week.

* There is no need to spend money on cleansing creams and face washes. Just use pure olive oil to cleanse your face at home. Here are some tips on how to get glowing face using olive oil.

* Apply a small amount of olive oil on your face. Massage your face for about two minutes, using circular motions. After that, take a hot water-dipped washcloth and put it on your face for 10 minutes to get rid of dirt, makeup and other impurities.

* Splash cold water on your face now, you are ready to get soft, glowing and healthy skin naturally with olive oil. Lastly, eat lot of fresh fruits and vegetables. Also, do not forget to increase your daily water intake

So by observing the above measures, we can conclude that olive oil is the best medication for skin diseases.

THE OLIVE: A HEALTH-GIVING PLANT

One of the foods to which attention is drawn in the Qur'an is the olive. Research in recent years has revealed that the olive is not just a delicious food but also represents an important source of good health. In addition to the olive itself, olive oil is also an important source of nutrition. Attention is drawn to the oil of the olive tree in these terms in the Qur'an:

Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The metaphor of His Light is that of a niche in which is a lamp, the lamp inside a glass, the glass like a brilliant star, lit from a blessed tree, an olive, neither of the east nor of the west, its oil all but giving off light even if no fire touches it. Light upon Light. Allah guides to His Light whoever He wills and Allah makes metaphors for mankind and Allah has knowledge of all things. (Qur'an, 24:35)

The expression "mubarakatin zaytoonatin" in the above verse describes the olive as being "plentiful, sacred, auspicious, providing countless blessings." Olive oil, referred to in the term "zaytuha," is known as one of the most highly recommended types of oil by all experts, especially for coronary and arterial health. Its health benefits may be summarised as follows:

Benefits for Coronary and Arterial Health:

Most of the fatty acids in olives and olive oil are mono-unsaturated. Mono-unsaturated fatty acids do not contain cholesterol. Therefore, olive oil does not raise cholesterol levels but instead keeps them under control. Olive oil also contains omega-6 linoleic acid (EFA: essential fatty acid), which is essential for the human body. Due to this feature, health-related bodies (such as The World Health Organization) recommend that at least 30% of the fatty acid consumed in societies in which hardened artery and diabetes levels are high should consist of omega-6. This increases the importance of the olive still further.

And by it He makes crops grow for you and olives and dates and grapes and fruit of every kind. There is certainly a Sign in that for people who reflect.
(Qur'an, 16:11)
Studies in this area have revealed much lower LDL (bad cholesterol) and higher antioxidant levels in people who consume 25 millilitres (about two dessertspoonfuls) of natural olive oil a day for one week. Antioxidants are important as they neutralise the harmful substances in the body known as free radicals and prevent cell damage. It has also been established in a great many studies that the consumption of olive oil reduces cholesterol levels and prevents heart disease.

Olive oil is also recommended for patients with heart and artery disease since it reduces the level of harmful cholesterol (LDL) in the bloodstream and raises that of useful cholesterol (HDL). In countries with high occurrences of heart and artery diseases, saturated fats with high cholesterol content are generally consumed.

In addition, olive oil does not disrupt the proportion of omega-6 to that of omega-3. It is very important that omega-3 and omega-6 be present in the body at specific levels because any imbalance in these proportions can lead to progression in many diseases, especially those of the heart and immune system and cancer.131 For all these reasons, many people enjoy good health thanks to olive oil. The American Heart Association suggests that in order to reduce the risk of heart disease high mono-unsaturated fats can be an alternative to a 30% reduced fat diet.

Cancer Prevention

One study, published by The Archives of Internal Medicine, showed that women who consume high levels of mono-unsaturated fat have a lower risk of developing breast cancer. Another study by scientists at the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York demonstrated that b-sitosterol, a fat found in vegetable oils such as olive oil, helps prevent the formation of prostate cancer cells. The researchers concluded that b-sitosterol strengthens the internal communication system of the cell that issues the command for the cells to divide and that cancer can thus be prevented before cell division reaches an uncontrollable level.

A recent study by doctors at the University of Oxford has shown that olive oil has a protective effect against intestinal cancer. The doctors discovered that olive oil enters into a reaction with stomach acid in order to prevent intestinal cancer from beginning. At the same time, the University of Oxford researchers also established that olive oil reduces the level of bile and raises that of DAO (the enzyme diamine oxidase), thus protecting against abnormal cell growth and cancer.

Prevention of Arthritis

According to researchers' reports, people who consume large quantities of olive oil and cooked vegetables can have a reduced risk of rheumatic arthritis, a chronic inflammatory disease of the joints.

Olive Oil Assists Bone Development

The vitamins E, A, D and K contained in olive oil are particularly important from the point of view of assisting bone development in adults and children, and in strengthening the bones by fixing calcium. It is also recommended for the elderly as it is easily digested and through its minerals, it assists with the use of vitamins in the body. It also prevents calcium loss by stimulating bone mineralisation. Bones are the organism's mineral structure storehouses and an absence of mineral accumulation in the bones can lead to serious complications such as bone softening. Olive oil has a most beneficial effect on the skeleton in this regard.

Prevention of Aging

Since the vitamins contained in olive oil have a cell renewing effect they are also employed in the treatment of the elderly, as well as nourishing and protecting the skin. As foodstuffs are transformed into energy in our bodies, certain substances known as oxidants are formed. With the high levels of anti-oxidants it contains, olive oil prevents damage by harmful substances, renews our cells and delays aging in the tissues and organs. Olive oil is also rich in vitamin E, which suppresses the free radicals that destroy the cells in our bodies and cause aging.

Contribution to Child Development

Due to the linoleic acid (omega-6 fatty acid) contained in olives and olive oil, these are a most healthy food for newborn babies and growing children. A deficiency in linoleic acid leads to the emergence of a retardation of development in babyhood and various skin disorders.

Olive oil contains anti-oxidant elements that prevent the destructive effects of harmful substances in our bodies, and fatty acids of great importance to human health. These support the hormones and assist in cell membrane formation.

Olive oil possesses a balanced polyunsaturated compound at a similar level to that in human milk. Olive oil is a sufficient source of these fatty acids, which cannot be obtained from the human body but which are of the most essential importance to it. These factors make olive oil very important for new-born babies.

Since it contributes to the natural development of the baby's brain and nervous system before and after birth, olive oil is the only oil recommended for mothers by experts. As well as containing similar levels of linoleic acid to those of mother's milk, when olive oil is added to fatless cow's milk, it becomes as natural a food source as mother's milk itself.

Blood Pressure Reduction

One study published in the 27 March 2000 edition of Archives of Internal Medicine once more stressed the beneficial effect of olive oil on high blood pressure. Medicines to reduce high blood pressure are also made from olive leaves.

Benefits for the Internal Organs

Whether consumed hot or cold, olive oil protects the stomach against diseases such as gastritis and ulcers by reducing gastric acid levels. In addition to this, by activating the bile, it makes it perfect. It regulates the discharge of the gall bladder and reduces the risk of bile stone formation. Moreover, thanks to the chloride it contains, it also assists the functioning of the liver and thus helps the body eliminate waste products. In addition, it also has a beneficial effect on the brain arteries.

On account of all these properties, olive oil has attracted considerable expert attention in recent years. Some of the comments made by experts are as follows:

Jean Carper, a prominent authority in the field of health and nutrition, the CNN award-winning correspondent, columnist and author of The Food Pharmacy and Food-Your Miracle Medicine:

New Italian research finds olive oil contains antioxidants... that combat disease processes, including LDL cholesterol's ability to clog arteries.

Pat Baird, a dietician and nutrition consultant:

I love the whole idea of olive oil's versatility... the more we know about it, the more we learn about its great contribution to good health.

Dr. Dimitrios Trichopoulos, chairman of the Department of Epidemiology, Harvard University School of Public Health:

American women might actually experience as much as a fifty percent (50%) reduction in breast cancer risk if they consumed more olive oil in place of saturated fats.

Olive oil has a protective effect against some types of malignant tumors: prostate, breast, colon, squamous cell, and oesophageal.

D. Peck of the School of Medicine, University of Miami:

Olive oil has been shown to strengthen the immune system in mice...

Bruno Berra of the Institute of General Physiology and Biological Chemistry, University of Milan:

... The minor polar components of extra virgin olive oil increase significantly the resistance of LDL to oxidation.

A.A. Rivellese, G. Riccardi and M. Mancini of the Institute of Internal Medicine and Metabolic Diseases at Federico II University, Naples:

Olive oil prevents insulin resistance and ensures better control of the glucose in the blood.

Patrizia Galletti of the Second University of Naples, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery:

Dietary intake of olive oil polyphenols may lower the risk of reactive oxygen metabolite-mediated diseases such as some gastrointestinal diseases and atherosclerosis. Olive oil hydroxytyrosol protects human erythrocytes against oxidative damage.

Frank Sacks of the Harvard School of Public Health:

An olive-oil-rich diet is more effective than a low-fat diet in controlling and treating obesity. Moreover, it leads to longer-lasting weight loss and it is easier to keep to...

As we have seen, a great many scientists today think that an olive oil-based diet constitutes the ideal nutritional model. It is stated that on account of these properties, olives and olive oil should be the fundamental constituents of every meal in one's daily nutrition programme. The benefits of the olive plant, emphasised by Allah in many verses of the Qur'an, have been discovered in parallel to the advances made by medical science.

It is He Who sends down water from the sky. From it you drink and from it come the shrubs among which you graze your herds. And by it He makes crops grow for you and olives and dates and grapes and fruit of every kind. There is certainly a Sign in that for people who reflect. (Qur'an, 16:10-11)

    Hindaba (Chicory)

Hindaba temperament changes according to the season. It is cold and wet in winter, hot and dry in summer and mild in spring and autumn. In general, Hindaba is cold and dry. Hindaba is beneficial and cools the stomach and causes constipation. When Hindaba, especially wild Hindaba, is cooked and eaten with vinegar, it constipates even more and is more favorable for the stomach and invigorating.

When Hindaba is used as a bandage, it will relieve gastric inflammations, gout and hot ocular inflammations. In cases of scorpion stings, Hindaba helpswhen its leaves and stems are used as a bandage.

Hindaba also strengthens the stomach and opens the clogs in the kidneys, spleen, veins and intestines. It also clears and purifies the kidneys and helps them against the various hot and cold aches.

The sour Hindaba is the best for the liver, while its extract helps against icter (jaundice), especially when mixed with wet fennel extract. When Hindaba leaves are bruised and places on hot swellings, it will cool and dissipate them. Hindaba also cleanses and clears the chest and dissipates the heat of irritated blood and bile.

The best way to eat Hindaba is without washing it so as to preserve its effective ingredients. Hindaba works as an effective antidote against most poisons.

When Hindaba extract is used as eyeliner, it will clear and cleanse the eyes. Hindaba leaves are used in antidotes against scorpion stings, and against most poisons as we have stated. When the Hindaba is squeezed and its water is mixed with oil, it will help against all toxic subatances in general. When Hindaba stems are squeezed and their water drunk, it will help against scorpion and hornet stings and against snakebite. Finally, the sap of its stems whitens the white area in the eye.

    Warss (Ceylon Cornel Tree)

Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated, "The woman who has just delivered would remain for forty days afterwards [without praying or fasting]. One of us would then overlay Warss on her face to help against spots." Abu Hanifah, a linguist, said, "Warss does not grow in the wild. Rather, it is cultivated. I think that it is only grown in the Arab lands, especially in Yemen."

Warss is dry and hot in the second degree. The best type of Warss is the red Warss, which is soft in the hand and does not have much bran. Warss is used as an ointment to treat spots, rashes, and pimples that appear on the surface of the skin. Warss constipates, has a dyeing quality and helps against leprosy when taken as a drink.

Warss has similar benefits to sea Qust, and if it is used as an ointment it relieves vitiligo (skin condition of unkown cause, characterized by patchy loss of pigment), rashes, pimples and ulcers.

    Milh (Salt)

Al-Bzzar narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "You will soon be to the people what the salt represents to food, and the food's flavor dosen't become favorable unless there is salt in it."

Al-Baghawi said in his commentary on the Qur'an that Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) related from the Prophet (peace be upon him) that he said: "There are four blessings that Allah has sent down to the earth from the heavens: iron, fire, water and salt." This Hadith should only be rlated from Ibn Umar (RA).

Salt is favorable for people's bodies and food. Further, salt is favorable and beneficial when blended with any substance, including gold and silver, as it makes gold more yellowish and whitens silver. Salt decomposes, cleanses, dries the thick humidity, strenghtens and purifies the body and helps against open mangy sores.

When used as eyeliner salt, especially gem salt, will remove the excess fat or flesh and the yellowish color from the eye. Salt also prevents malignant infections from spreading, works as a laxative and helps against pleurisy when the stomach is anointed with it. Salt cleanses the teeth, prevents them from decaying, and strenthens the gums and makes them firm. There are many other benefits for the salt.

    Curing Fear and Insomnia

At-Tirmidhi narrated in his Sunan that Khalid once complained to the Prophet (peace be upon him) that he does not sleep well at night. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "When you go to bed say, 'O Allah! The Lord of the seven heavens and what is under them, the Lord of the earths and what they carry, and the Lord of the devils and whoever they misguide! Be my supporter against the evil of all Your creation, preventing any of them to cause me any harm or injustice. Mighty indeed are those whom You support, honorable indeed is Your praise, and there is no deity worthy of worship except You.'"

Also, At-Tirmidhi narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to teach his companions these words when they face any fear, "I seek refuge with Allah's perfect Words from His anger and torment, and from the evil of His slaves and the whisperings of the devils. I seek refuge with You, my Lord from their precense.'"

    Nabq or Nabiq

It has several names: Nabq, Christ's thorn, lotus jujube, or rhamnus. Abu Nu'aym mentioned these in his book on Prophetic medicine, when he mentioned the Hadith, " When Adam was sent down to earth, the first of its fruits he ate was Nabiq."

Also, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) mentioned the Nabq in a hadith narrated by the Two Muhaddithain, "On the night that I was taken on the Night Journey, I was shown Sidrat Al-Muntada (a tree in the seventh heaven) and I saw its Nabq fruits which resembled the clay jugs of Hajr (a town in Arabia)."

Nabq is the fruit produced by the lote-tree. Nabq soothes the natural digestive process, helps against diarrhea, coats the stomach, relieves bile, provides nutrition fo the body, taste to the food and causes phlegm. It also helps against inflammation caused by bile. Nabq is slowly digested while its flour strengthens the bowls and is favorite for bilious temperaments. The harm of the Nabq will be neutralized when eating honeycomb with it.

There is a conflict of opinion concerning if Nabq is wet or dry. The correct opinion is that wet Nabq is cold and wet while dry Nabq is cold and dry.

    Karfas (Celery)

Karfas has a good aroma and when it is hung under the neck, it relieves toothache.

Karfas is hot and dry, and it opens the clogs of the liver and the spleen. Wet celery leaves helps the stomach and the cold liver, causes urine as a diuretic, menstrual flow, and dissolves stones. Celery grains are more effective in this regard. Karfas also stimulates semen production and relieves offensive breath. Ar-Razi said, "One should avoid eating it if he fears he might suffer a scorpion sting."

    Narjis (Narcissus)

The Narjis is hot and dry int he second degree and its stems are used to relieve deep cankers that reach the nerves. Also, Narjis cleanses and extracts septic substances. If the Narjis is cooked and one drinks its water, or boils it and eats it, it will cause vomiting and will extract the moistures that reside in the bottom of the stomach. When the Narjis is cooked with lentil plant and honey, it will cleanse the cankers from septic excretions and will cause the gastric ulcers to rupture.

Narjis blossoms are mild and beneficial against colds. They have a strong power of decomposition, open the nose and cerebral clogs, and help against headaches and black bile. Watermelon

Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to eat watermelon with ripe dates, saying: "The hotness of this substance (dates) neutralizes the coolness of that (watermelon)."

There are several Ahadith regarding watermelon none of them are authentic, except the Hadith that we mentioned above.

Green watermelon is cold and wet and is sweet. it also works as a cleanser (for the stomach and the intestines). Watermelon departs the stomach more quickly than cucumber and quickly blends with whatever substances are present in the stomach. It is beneficial to eat watermelon when it is warm, but when it is cold it is better to have it with some ginger to offset its harm.

Watermelon should be eaten before the meals. Otherwise, it will cause nausea. Some doctors said that when watermelon is, "Eaten before the meal, it cleanses the stomach and removes ailments."

    Misk (Musk)

Muslim narrated that Abu Sai'd Al-Khudri said that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "The best type of perfume is Musk."

In the Sahihain it is also narrated that Aishsh (RA) said: "I used to anoint the Prophet (peace be upon him) with perfumed Musk before assuming Ihram, on the Day of the Sacrifice and before performing Tawaf around the (Sacred) House."

Musk is the king of all perfumes, it has the best aroma. Other types of perfumes are usually compared to Musk, but Musk is never compared to them. Also, the hills and sands of Paradise are made of Musk.

Musk is a hot, dry substance of the second degree, and it brings comfort and joy to the hearts and strengthens the inner organs when it is drunk or smelled. Musk also brings strength and comfort to the external organs when anointed with it. Musk is profitable for old people and those who have excessive skin moistures, especially during winter, and also helps against fainting, shaking and the general weakness in the body as it excites the instinctive heat. Musk clears the white part in the eye and dries excess moisture in it, and also dissipates swelling in various organs. Musk also works as an antidote for some poisons, and helps against snakebite. It has many other benefits.

    Zamzam Water

Zamzam Water is the best, freshest, most beneficial, most beloved and most precious water there is. Further, Zamzam water was dug up by Jibril and the source that Prophet Isma'il(AS) drank from.

In the Sahihain it is narrated that the Prophet(SAWS) said to Abu Tharr, who remained at the Ka'bah for 40 days without food (or drink) living on Zamzam water: "It is a nutritious food." Muslim added that the Prophet(SAWS) said: "And a cure from ailment."

Furthermore, Ibn Majah narrated that Jabir bin 'Abdullah related from the Prophet(SAWS) that he said: "Zamzam water is for whatever was intended behind drinking it."

We were told that 'Abdullah bin Al-Mubarak once said. "O Allah Ibn Al-Mu'ammil told us that Muhammad bin Al-Munkar related from Jabir(RA) that your Prophet(SAWS) said: "The water of Zamzam is for the purpose it is drank for, and I drink it to relieve my thirst on the Day of Ressurection." This Hadith is of the Hasan (Sound) type.

Many other people and I have tried drinking Zamzam water for the purpose of being cured from various illnesses, and by the will of Allah, I was indeed cured from several illnesses. I also saw some people who lived on Zamzam water for a long time, fifteen days or a little longer without complaining from hunger. Such people would perform Tawaf with other people at a normal pace. Someone even told me that Zamzam water was his only food and drink for forty days and that he still had enough strength to fast and perform Tawaf many times.
