This evening at 10:03 PM, the Moon will be perpendicular to the Kaaba. At this exact time, if you align the Moon in front of your eyes, you will be facing the Qiblah with 100% accuracy. This is the easiest way to determine the direction of the Qiblah.

A RARE EID DAY SUN-QIBLAH ALIGNMENT 🕋☀️

On 27/28 May, around 10:18am BST, the Sun will pass directly above the Ka‘bah.

At that moment, a simple shadow can help you confirm the direction of Qiblah. Place a straight stick upright, look at the shadow it casts, and face the opposite direction of the shadow — that will point you towards the Ka‘bah.

This happens twice a year, but this year it beautifully coincides with Eid al-Adha / Dhul Hijjah, making it a great chance to teach family and children a practical lesson about Qiblah, prayer, astronomy and our connection to Makkah.

Please do not look directly at the Sun. Use shadows only.
