For larger area, I.e, main drainage areas, back, shoulders, etc. cup no.2: 1 x 5cm diameter excluding rim (5.9cm including rim). But this is variable depending on preference of use by each individual practitioner.
salamualaikumbrother.the proper cups are called air cups.there is only on standard size.many reasons for this.the larger the diameter doesnt mean better cupping results but this is only my preference . Different sizes can be used if that works best for others inshallah.

We will just have to agree to disagree, its not possible to use a certain size cup for all areas, on smaller parts of the body a person needs to use the much smaller cups, all cupping sets when bought you will find come in a set of different sizes, even the glass ones, although most people use the disposable plastic ones for hygeine reasons, as the glass ones are very difficult to sterilise, however, the benefit of cupping is the same despite the type of cup used, in some countries cupping is performed by a horn. Alhamdulillah.

There is no right way or wrong way of cupping, every therapist had his or her own way of cupping, but Masha.Allah the outcome is the same. As long as the therapist is qualified and experienced there is nothing to worry about.

Nicely put. I also can't agree to disagree with either as I'm no professional.

I have never done the course not studied it, but after having cupping done to my self by my wife, who also taught me how to hold the blade and perform the incision, I was able to do it on her too. Alhumdulillah, the results were good as she no longer felt the discomforts she had in her back for a good few months.

My aim on this thread was to liven up the forgotten Sunnah, and inshaAllah pass on as much information as I possibly could.

As far as I know or have read, there is no mention in any Hadith regarding the size of the cups.

I will leave it to Allah as the shifa comes from him and not the cups.

Subhanallah, in everything good Allah has placed a means of betterment and cure for us, but only Allah has the power and ability to grant us cure. Jazakallah, for the reminder.

Many people are not comfortable with the cupping process, but please don't be put off by what you see on the clips. What you see and what you will actually experience is very different. Masha.Allah the health benefits are great, and by the will of Allah you will feel the difference, both mentally and physically.

I always mention a story about prophet Musa (as) who Allah had sent to a tree and to eat a leaf from to cure his stomach ache. And as it happened, prophet Musa (as) had the same pain again so he went to the same tree and ate a leaf from it expecting it to cure his stomach. Bit it did not have any effect on him. Allah then reminded him that the cure came from Allah and not the leaf, Allah just used the leaf as a means.

I prefer the glass cups over the plastic cups but its nothing to argue about over preferences. What ever works better for the professionals .

salamualaikum dear muslims.please be advised that this book on cupping is the opinion of a doctor who relies mainly on scientific research and data.i sent this book for review by the majlis ul ulema they stated that the statements by Amin shekho in regards to cupping is full of errors and inaccuracies . Amin shekho's aqeedah is not known fully or his academic qualifications. So please disregard my earlier statements where I used Amin shekho as an authoritative source. Jazakullah

SALAMUALAIKUM WARAHMATTULLAH

I would not recommend anyone to donate their blood in the hopes to be cleaned of toxins. Hijamah is the solution inshallah.

  salamualaikum.
Ameen . You are right brother. As long as the niyyat and methods are close as possible to the sunnah, that's what counts. May Allah make us all benefit from this sunnah of rasullullah ( saw) .
