Al-Azhar University (Cairo, Egypt):

Would it be advisable to join courses there if on-line?
I was told the teachings there are based on Salafiyyah thought...is this correct?

Asslamo Allaikum,

I would humble and respectfully have to denounce anything being done by Islam's oldest university. An Islamic institution has to be judged by its graduates and so far as Al-Azhar's graduates have produced a spectacular array of unIslamic behavior:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/africaandindianocean/egypt/6262819/Egypt-purges-niqab-from-schools-and-colleges.html

What kind of a SICK ALIM ripps a Niqab off a 16-17 Muslim gril?

http://qa.sunnipath.com/issue_view.asp?HD=1&ID=340&CATE=43

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/2488525.stm

http://islamonline.com/news/articles/82/Al-Azhar-University-fatwa-allows-for-interest-on-B.html

Compare their Fatwaas to what Allah (SWT) says about Interest/Usury in the Qur'aaN:

[2:275] Those who eat Ribâ (usury) will not stand (on the Day of Resurrection) except like the standing of a person beaten by Shaitân (Satan) leading him to insanity.

[2:279] And if you do not do it, then take a notice of war from Allâh and His Messenger but if you repent, you shall have your capital sums. Deal not unjustly (by asking more than your capital sums), and you shall not be dealt with unjustly (by receiving less than your capital sums).

http://www.wikiislam.com/wiki/Al-Azhar_fatwa_on_adult_suckling

What kind of SICK PEOPLE would advocate adult men drinking breast milk??

And I can quote some more.

So what are the alternatives? Many...

In Birmingham the best option is to attend As-Suffa in person:

http://www.as-suffa.org/

For online students the BEST PROGRAM in the West is run by Mufti Yusuf Mullan:

http://www.shariahprogram.ca/

This is the kind of stuff which will be addressed by the indepth section of Euro-Sunni and we will have courses which you can listen in from the forum.

And also remember that as part of Euro-Sunni we will cover the entire Nurul-Idah in Arabic/English cover to cover FOR FREE :-)
